It's actually insane that there are people defending this, acting like 2 months is some insane hiatus for this kind of content and even then, I bet 90% of the people backing this up don't even subscribe to the person on patreon.

The 2 month hiatus is not the problem. The problem is that the dev didn't say anything about an hiatus and this is not the first time it happend this dev had another patreon where he did the same move and abandoned the game. It doesn't matter, the person could have made a new game from scratch since they are already going to make "new art", they already made accounts on subscribing platforms to try and profit from this, this isn't a behaviour to be encouraged.
If the other dev isn't posting everyone can just unsubscribe from his patreon, he is not holding people at gunpoint to pay him, you can even ask for a refund on patreon claiming that the person didn't offer any content on that month if you are more than a month subscribed.
This kind of stuff is what makes a lot of artists quit.

Pirates don't steal something and make it into an asset flip to make money. Bypassing DRM, locale restrictions, and abandonware limitations is one thing. Selling stolen goods is something else.
Sounds to me like everyone's a shithead in this story. One asshole does not absolve the other.

he is a scammer, not a regular artist, he deserves this and i know this for a fact because his old patreon was just abandoned from one day to another and its not like he died or something because here he is again, he never mentioned his older project at all meaning he tried to make people think this are 2 separate devs when in reality its him, in a few months you will see another game pop up from this same guy ant the cycle will repeat or maybe this game and all his bad reputation will make him give up and the world will be a better place.
Acting like this right here isn't a scam.
Let's give money and attention to an untalented lazy person who just flips art from other artists.

I don't think people realize that if something like this is let fly it opens up Pandora's box on all games which tldr train a game on some ai alter the images mildly (its yours now harhar) and regurgitate the same exact product just altered slightly. This "game" goes beyond that into blatant theft. If you cant see the forest for the trees on this I'm sorry you're too far gone. Things like this shouldn't be able to let slide purely because of the secondary effects to EVERY SINGLE GAME.
