You have to update because you might have compatibility issues with i18nEx translation plugin. There have been changes in a short time frame and I can't remember the minimum required version for i18nEx. Always update to latest version unless someone explicitly tells you not to. It's good practice to wait at least a week after an update is published if you don't want to be a guinea pig.

For CM the version doesn't really matter anymore. Nobody made plugins for it in a very very long time and there weren't any game breaking changes every since kiss dropped support for it (well technically they still support it with updates but nothing major). You can update it if you want. As I already said you have to read the instructions if you have issues

Same here. it is really intimidating, seems like you need to know a lot of internals of this game to even start, all those acronyms and steps, like meme of drawning an owl. I really hope one day there will be some pre-patched AIO package that will just work.

Not possible until kiss abandons the game for good. This isn't koikatsu. The game gets regular updates that might randomly fuck up everything. Seriously what's so hard to download a damn torent and read some instructions. You only need two things.

. For R9 you should read the guide from the description. It's not a big deal. Install game update and the rest of dlc to get it up to date and that's basically it. For CMI you just install it with "Similar to Noctsoul" or "My recommendation" preset and it should be fine. Names might be slightly different.
Back in my days I had to learn everything the hard way. There were no guides and no AIO at all.

COM update installers now contain 2 in 1 packages for normal COM3D2 and COM3D2.5. The installer knows better what version of the game you have and will prevent you from accidentally updating from 2.xx to 3.xx. Version 3.xx is for COM3D2.5.
Now what you see there are two installers. The big one is a full updater meant for updating from a major version to latest. For example jumping directly from 2.39.2 to 2.44.4.
The small installer is for updating from a sub version to latest by adding only the difference. For example from 2.44.1 to 2.44.4.
You can use the full installer to update from any version to latest. The sub installer only works if you are on the same major version. Full installers are safer and are good for correcting damaged files due to bit rot on an old ssd. If you don't mind the larger size you should always use the full updater.

At first sight the extension is wrong. It should be .7z.0XX not .7z .0XX
See the extra space?
I have no idea how that happened.
Anyway you should get the much newer R9 torrent from a few posts above.

this is probably a silly question, but with games like these, that are in 20000 parts, what am i supposed to do to play the full game? download them all at once and put them in the same folder? or download 1 part play it, then when i cant proceed download the second part? and continue until i have all parts?

The parts of a split archive with the same name are chained together. If one part is missing the whole archive won't be able to extract and you'll get "Unexpected end of data" error.
I don't see how the other thing you said could ever be true unless you have separate games like vn with multiple volumes but it would be really dumb to have them named the same. And they'd have to be archived individually ending up with multiple 7z.001 volumes each representing the start of a separate data stream.

I think this antagonism is really not needed here. "Apparently that's too much reading for some... ", you cannot know if they did not read or misunderstood it. Truth is the process is long, involves updating game, the write up also suggests things can not work, it also points you at yet another write up about installing uncensor content there, there are many steps and with this game constantly updating it is a moving target. We see some AIO repacks of other games that are for most part download, unpack and run and we would love to have something like that for this game too. Even if you are not target audience for such repack, there's no reason to come so hard on those that wish there was one.

For another community game and modder it is not much of a problem, but this game is a different world, there are many modders they do not like to share or be inside someone modpack, some may be involved in KISS and get a warning, there are definitely many players they have full builds, but those who have gone to the path they understand why not share all including the whole mod and plugin.
