lol but seriously, if there is any translation this will be it, and its mtl, otherwise, the only way to improve the experience is actually learning japanese.

I was fighting with this for a long time.
Just set as on screenshot and make sure to uncheck checkbox. No Locale Emulator needed. (checkbox most important)
PS: No weird characters in PATH, no long names no spaces. (x:\cr5 works ok)

yes i know, but your links appear as an error to me, mega doesnt let me download such big files, and i saw others keep saying (between page 10 - 20) about "gdrive link", ofc im kinda curious

Thanks man. I couldn't get it to work but turns out the path was the problem.
EDIT:
I was all giddy but i'm encountering a second problem.
Game crashes while playing this cutscene. I'm getting a different error if i play it in full screen.
I'm running the game with locale emulator. I tried with the basic system locale but same thing.
Maybe the english patch broke something.

Rule of thumb on playing japanese games:
Always use backup japanese locale, do this BEFORE you install anything, so that it doesn't have the chance of having garbled characters in any of the game files.
Second, if I remember correctly, this game requires the old runtime codecs, or something like vcrun, I'm not sure but better pick both. I don't remember but I think the required one is included in the game CD.

Speaking of which, good find a fellow linux user here. I was trying out the Kanojo game, and while it plays fine, it crashes on the loading screen probably because of some 32bit codec issue.
Does anyone have the Custom Girlfriend one? or what was the name? how to get a girlfriend or something from KISS as well...
pretty much like this one with customizable girlfriend and you could train her into an absolute slut or lovey dovey kinda relationship, it even let you modify the city and add buildings to go on dates and unlock outfits and such.
I mean ffs old games were so fucking amazing and complete.
