It's been a while since I played something this interesting.

The art is good, the characters have good characterization, and the story is interesting but I guess we are just at the start so we will see.

The quest tracker is well-designed and useful, and the minigames are a nice feature, the only downside being that the "space invaders like" feels a bit clunky when you try to change direction or rotate, maybe an option could be to move with WASD and rotate with the mouse or the arrows but I don't know if it's worth the trouble.
As someone else said the text is a bit slow but it's not a big problem since the story is well-written.

Overall, even if it's a WIP I rate it 9/10, but I don't doubt it could become a 10/10 game.
Thank you for the kind comment! To be completely honest the asteroid minigame was a bit of a first-try at a proper minigame, so that type of feedback is actually helpful for sure. I wanted to see how people reacted to it and decide whether or not to expand the functionality, but so far people seem to like it so I might expand it in the future (things like added upgrades to the ship, different locations etc...).

When I saw that sliding puzzle I lost interest in a second. Those things fucking suck.

TBH I wasn't sure how people would react to it but I was considering adding an auto-resolve button to fix it and maybe that might be the right move.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but does it explain anywhere how to play the Junky minigame? I can shoot with mouse clicks, but no amount of keyboard mashing, clicking, dragging etc. lets me move or rotate. You've mentioned making the controls easier and the handling better... but have you mentioned what those controls are?

Hate to say it but you're completely right lmao. I'll have to work on having some form of prompt mentioning the controls, but the controls are the standard "WASD" for movement and "Spacebar or Left Click" to shoot.

OK that does seem to work. I swear it didn't last time I tried!

Enjoying the game so far, but I think I've managed to get stuck. I'm on the cold shoulder quest and I've given the girls their coats, however talking to Fae in the cockpit doesn't progress anything. I enter a dialogue about "Do you ever sleep" then Everie comes in and mentions shes been charging in her room and we decide that's why it is so cold. Before MC says he wants to show Everie the generator room, then the scene ends and I'm transported to the generator room in free roam with no Everie. If i go back in to the cockpit I just get the same scene. Fae is also in the rec room, but does not have any dialogue options. Not sure what to do at this point.

Oh that's actually very interesting. What's the current objective? What you're initially supposed to do is have the convo with Fae and Everie in cockpit, go put DD on charge, then go check in with Everie in generator room.

I tried placing DD on the charger (I assume this is the spot I found him originally) but nothing happened. Here's a screenshot of my objective and my save if you wanted to poke around. Good luck

Cyber Rift Part 4 (v0.2.9a Bug Test Version)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since we've uploaded a build and we wanted to go over what's featured in this patch, what's currently not working but will be added shortly, and what's going to happen in the near future for Cyber Rift.

So the most immediate thing we have to address is that in the past two weeks we've decided to hire a new artist to replace the current one for Cyber Rift. Normally this would be a significant cause for concern but we wanted to be clear that this was extremely necessary for the project to continue in a positive way, and also to address the big issues with content production and speeding up development timeline. We've tried to make it work for the past few years, but unfortunately we needed to pursue a different path for the future of Cyber Rift. This has caused us to have a bit of an odd situation of development limbo for the past few months, but luckily things are starting to really look up for the project now. It was a difficult decision overall, but we're excited for the future of this project and we're hoping you guys will be pretty pleased at what's to come.

(Warning again that this is primarily for progression and testing!)

Now onto the update! Because of this situation we've had some issues getting certain assets into the build and working correctly in a timely manner. We have all the assets finished for Part 4 now, but as you'll find with this build stuff like the NSFW scenes and the Syndicate Ship background featured in the top of this update header are not shown yet. This build is primarily aimed at nailing down progression and fixing bugs before we implement the assets correctly. So to list out things in terms of priority:

Added Features (with status):
- Brand new dialogue (25 pages worth but missing expressions/characters in scenes)
- 2 NSFW scenes (only dialogue in currently, will be added in the next few days)
- 2 New backgrounds (assets are in build but need to be implemented properly
- New Cyberia Escape minigame (missing sound effects and boss battle)

Missing but being worked on Features:

- New wardrobe system (currently working but not polished enough and missing new UI)
- New UI (only implemented for main menu currently)
- Syndicate Soldier sprite (also in build but needs implementation)

We also wanted to go into a bit more detail on immediate plans for the next few months. Chapter 2 is shaping up to be the biggest update Cyber Rift has ever had and we felt that we wanted to focus on this part of the game ahead of Part 4. We'll be doing some major changes to the game overall in preparation for something we're going to be announcing once Part 4 is fully stable, but to detail it we want to make sure every aspect of the game is up to a very high standard. This means improving core systems like the dialogue system, adding things like the ability to hide the dialogue prompt and a way to view previously said dialogue. Overall just major structural changes that we want to improve over the next few months, but in general we're hoping for some pretty drastic and positive changes to the experience. Let us know what you think of the build and we're very happy to take on your feedback!

Cyber Rift Part 4 (v0.2.9b First Bugfix)

So far patch has been more stable than usual! But to be safe we've been going through all the added new scenes just to make sure things are clicking in the right place. Please let us know if you spot any bugs and excited to hear what you guys think of the new NSFW scenes!

Fixes:
- Added the NSFW scenes! (currently can replay them infinitely for testing)
- Updated portraits for most of the new dialogue (still working on this)
- Added characters to most talking scenes (still WIP)
- Fixed most instances of "Player" instead of chosen player name showing up in Part 4's dialogue
- Fixed issue with Everie Warmup NSFW scenes not disappearing when finished
- Added money to player inventory on Start From Patch (not necessary for update but just in case for future)
- Added images to new objectives

Features to be added in future bugfix (with status):
- New Cyberia Escape minigame (missing sound effects and boss battle)

Missing but being worked on Features:

- New wardrobe system (currently working but not polished enough and missing new UI)
- New UI (only implemented for main menu currently)
- Syndicate Soldier sprite (also in build but needs implementation)

Also wanted to mention I've been researching on how to do localization for when Chapter 2 Part 1 is finished. Main thinking is there was quite a few QoL features that people have been wanting for the game such as being able to hide the dialogue prompter during dialogue, or having a log of the past few pieces of conversation (gonna aim for 30), so that's something we're considering reworking atm. It's kind of a pain in the ass to sort, but thinking I can also add stuff like being able to skip dialogue by spacebar and other fun things like that.

Good idea maybe a poll to see if people think some changes are worth getting added or not. Should I do this for example Yes or No. Go through ideas and see how the players feel.
