Don't remember what where the conditions for them to appear though. I think you need to get the item in the game for it to appear as a starting bonus.
Odd, I've gotten the True Aurora Shell by combining Crook and Ulaanbaatar as a random dungeon drop before, but no luck.

I played this game a year ago and got an ending but replaying now I'm confused. I'm playing a new game on the 2nd difficulty and I don't know how to get rid of the kaijus in tower of Babel. Angels have been attacking for 6 turns now and I've gotten to the point where rance makes his speech and have the dungeon floors skipped to 20 but the first floor is filled with 20k kaijus instead of angels. Any halp plz?

That is a first to me - Mind sending over the save file or screenshots so that I could look at it?
Once after starting Part 2, then an unlimited amount, using Gold, after recruiting either Maria or El.
Do I just turn the asd files into a .save? Cause f9 zone won't let me send them as they are. Also here's a screenshot

You can pack the files into a zip/rar/7z file and send those to me through a direct message
That said, I've never seen anything like that before, I'll take a look after I do get these files
Edit: To anyone curious, the fix has been found - There will be a hotfix patch with a few additional things sprinkled on top.

A new version is out, hopefully fixing things that have been left out during the last release, as well as throwing in some additional sprite changes and a new character event for AF Jill.

Not at all, you'll need to be prepared for what the game is going to throw at you, so make sure to at least finish the five routes first. Get familiar with the game, learn to abuse all the tricks from base Sengoku and then hope they carry you through the mod. Furthermore, the mod changed the requirements to get and clear the Leazas commanders, so you'd miss a few things, mainly for Kanami.
Thanks. Guess I'll play base game first. Another question while we're at it. Does this mod add any substantial amount of story? the "expanding the JAPAN unification storyline" part kinda implies some sort of story but I'm just curious if you'd say the story added is good/there's a good amount of it to warrant a playthrough?

The entire mod revolves around a completely new map (aka going from JAPAN to the Continent) and a new storyline being about said conquest. There are both new story events and character events as a result.
A single playthrough through the new story takes ~10-20hrs, depending on your approach to the game/mod.

10 to 20 hours of the new story, without taking the JAPAN bit into consideration, yeah.
The higher bits are mainly if you care about all the side events, character stories, min-maxing, etc etc.
are there any time-skip aspects? the first part after defeating the monster army it timeskipped to auto-defeat all the other kingdoms i haven't conquered. will the second part also have this?
also, after clearing the first game the first time is it recommended to do a new game, build up better units then start again? i tried the second part and immediately got my ass kicked by leazas.

So, this is a vanilla mechanic, not part of the mod. Basically, the first game has 5 major routes, and in your first playthrough, you are locked into the True Route. In the True Route, the timeskip will happen. I don't want to spoil too much, but I highly recommend you do at least one more playthrough of the first game.
If you don't mind spoilers, or finished your second playthrough and would like to do the 3 harder-to-access routes, here is the guide:

Most players end up doing just 2 routes: the True Route and the KTM Route (this route allows you to conquer all of JAPAN without a timeskip). I think all 5 are worth doing, and if you have only done the True Route so far, you have barely even scratched the surface of this amazing game.

if i do KTM can i still move on to part 2? would part 2 still be the true route? currently i've finished the true route but keep getting curb stomped by leazas, so i am doing a second playthrough where i amass my forces before moving on to part 2
