I want to like this game. Very cute art style, decent animations, open world, and vaguely similar to Stardew Valley. However, in its current state, comparing it to Stardew Valley is a bit of an insult to Stardew Valley.
    1. My main gripe with this game is the complexity of "events". In order to progress with a girl, you need to do an extremely specific set of things at extremely specific times of day, with some of them spanning a week (get an F on the Friday test means no studying at all for a week, then the teacher gives you a blowjob or whatever, which is a requirement to continue elsewhere). There are things that assist with knowing what to do, such as the info in the phone (which is very confusing to understand), heart icons over characters, enabling cheats, and even disregarding all of that and "dreaming" about the events yourself while sleeping (which shows you almost all scenes for all characters). However, dreaming is just the scene itself without any story/dialogue, so if you have any interest in the story you'll need to slog through the events one at a time. Furthermore, due to the events being so complex, you're constantly checking your phone to see what you need to do next. Since slogging through the game how it's meant to be played is a real chore, and viewing the events while dreaming doesn't carry any story, there's really no draw to playing it.
    2. The English is laughably bad. Almost every other box of dialogue has something misspelled or awkwardly written ("I'm the dangerous" - the female blacksmith). It's not meant to be a serious game so it's not a major deal, but it does show that the developer doesn't really care that much about the quality of their work.

Absolutely gorgeous game. The art is amazing. The scenes are animated, and animated well.
The backgrounds and sprites are also wonderfully well designed.
    The waifus are wonderfully charming.

Unfortunately those positives are brought down by a horrible game.
There is no map to navigate with.
90% of your time is spent walking simulator.
there is a teleport cheat. Which requires you to both cheat and also way too many clicks to use.

    There is no text history.
    You will miss text.

Why even use RPGM if there is no combat?
The game is a kinetic sandbox.

    bad quest tracking.
most quests are just not tracked at all.
and instruction on quests and event guide are unclear so require frequent checks to F95

    Bad GUI all around.
Time skipping is a constant thing you do, but is a huge chore due to bad UI design

Time... jesus fuck the time. game tracks exact 24 hour clock, weekday, and month's day.
events are often limited to 1 specific hour in 1 specicific day.
Multiple events on multiple characters are even tied to "harvests" which occur once a month for 2 day period.

Randomness. some events require massive amount of repetition until you randomly roll for the event to show up.
Ex: cousin hide and seek. you need to randomly roll to beat her in rock paper scissors. then randomly roll for her to get stuck in the barn wall

room maps are far too big. often time you don't notice the quest marker because it is offscreen.
You need to walking simulator around the room to expose it.
which gives horrible synergy with date and time schema as well as the clumsy GUI.
Nobody is going to re-explore every nook and cranny for every possible time combo.
    making walkthrough mandatory

+there is a skip button (shift)
-it only skips text and nothing else.
animations and sounds are very frequent and will run at normal speed when holding skip

The walkthrough hasn't been updated since v1.7.
Instead you rely on the in game event guide in your phone.
which is just bad. It just lists your progress step for that waifu and then an entire multi page list of most events you gotta scroll through.
listed in order. it doesn't track what you did or didn't do.
It very rarely clearly tells you when and where to do a thing. Sometimes I can figure it out, sometimes I can't.

    The gameplay loop itself is:
    grind affection slowly
    grind money
locate the event to progress a step with that character
    repeat.

I cheat as much as possible. but even with cheats this is tedious.
I have dropped and restarted this game multiple times.
Every time I spend hours cheating through all the new content as fast as I can.
Which is only so so in terms of speed.

DLMC is a case study in when a dev's ambitions exceed their ability.

The presentation is the crown jewel here. The illustrative renderings are gorgeous, the animations are superb for the medium, with plenty of nuance and detail, utilizing the fundamentals of animation. Many times animated scenes come down to a few frames that are played then reversed, but not here. The character designs are endearing if not terribly unique. The anatomy on display is rendered to have weight and dimension, and the body types have plenty of variety. The sprite work is colorful and lovely. The world feels splendidly realized in terms of visuals. All in all, it's one of the most visually pleasing games you can find on this site.

But that's really where the obvious positives end. So, what is DLMC? Well, it's the story of a young boy who goes to live with his auntie and cousin in a rural community. He's a skinny little guy but boasts a massive hog. He's horny, but so is everyone around him, and people have practically non existent personal boundaries or any sense of taboo.

So, your characters goals are to get laid, and this is where the major issues come in. The entire thing is designed not only to have you wander aimlessly, but to consume as much time as possible. There is no critical path, so there is no signposting so the player can infer what to do next and why. To play the game earnestly, you have to raise the affection of each female character by grinding repetitive actions. Compliment their cooking, helping them with chores, over and over and over. So, once you repeat these tasks dozens of times, you can trigger viginette set pieces. These require specific day, time and location criteria to be met.

The only real way to play is to turn on the cheat menu and skip all that bollocks. Max each female character's affection to 999, adjust the day and time to the correct parameters, and teleport around. You do not miss out on fun gameplay this way, you simply save yourself time. I do not need to tell the Auntie I like Steak for dinner every night of the week, or help the neighbor girl harvest veggies a few dozen times. You see the thing once, you see it enough. And there's a whole Harvest Moon style mini-chore to do to get cash. I just cheat to give myself cash and call it a day.

At the end of the day, this is the ghost of a gorgeously rendered visual novel stuffed into the facsimile of Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley. Just cheat past the tedious gameplay.

One of the best art I've seen, good writing, plenty of different body type and personnalities to interact with, minigames for the people that like that and something that should be in every sandbox type games but not everyone does this the possibilities to keep playing with and seeing the characters event even when their story line is done. Will play again after every update

    Gameplay 4/5
    Animation 5/5

    Overall 5/5

Playing this game with amazing arts and animation is absolutely beautiful.
If you wanna try to masturbate with this game I absolutely recommended because you wont get bored playing it, and lot of interaction with NPCs made this game is amazing and come with the NPCs schedule too. (p.s sorry for bad english)

Overall one of the best game.

best artwork by far, nice scenes, nice animations.

Have a tutorial so you dont get lost within the game.
Dont have time consume minigames and such.
    Gets updated frequently

i wish this game had like 100 hours of content cuz it would drain my balls out

Sometimes the gameplay can be take a bit to wrap your head around, becuase specific events need a series of specific steps to complete or rng, such as the rain event. Which can be a buzzkill if you are trying to get into the good bits of the game. Despite that gripe, the art is a A+ and the animation is a B+, making the step by step follow pattern worth while. Even though the game isnt finished it is really polished in terms of H Game rpgs, i can only see great additions coming to it with more content updates in the future.

Like many other games present on this site Daily Lives of My Countryside falls under the "porn with extra steps" category. It is in my honest opinion one of the most overrated games on this site as of right now.

Let's start with the obvious. Yes, the art and environment design are top notch and deserve the praise. The game is very easy on the eyes. However that's where the positives end.

Everything else apart from the aforementioned art ranges from lackluster to downright horrible. The game is essentially a one big checklist of chores which rewards you with some smut at the end.

    • The writing is plagued with grammatical errors and feels "uncanny" for lack of a better word.

    • Character designs while not bad are quite bland and generic.

    • Way the game handles passing of time effectively kills off exploration entirely. It's not plausible to play the game without a guide, no one is going to check each location 16 times every single day.

    • A lot of quest progression is counter intuitive or simply is not there at all. Which ties in with the previous point.

    • UI/Menu navigation has a lot of unnecessary extra clicks which makes it slow. This is an issue considering how much time you spend in there.
In short it's a grossly overrated, mediocre game which has seen little to no improvements over the course of its development. If it weren't for the quality of the art, which alone isn't enough to make a good game, this game would have been dead on arrival.

If the author was willing to hire people to work on areas of the game he has no experience nor talent in, as in everything else except the art it could grow into something decent. But considering the development history I'm not too hopeful.
It's quite frustrating really, people criticized the flaws such as the time progression and quest system very, very early on. The dev could have gone back and addressed these properly when the game was still taking its baby steps. Instead we got half-assed band-aid fixes which can only hold the game together for so long.

Great art and quality animations. Non-intuitive gaming experience. Throughout the game, you will rummage through your phone and read the schedules and events of this or that character in order to move forward. But almost always you cannot understand what you need to do and go to look for answers on the Internet. Instead of enjoying the game, you perform the routine of studying the schedule of the day of this or that girl. Not worth the time.

Daily Lives of My Countryside [v0.2.6.1]

Great art/animations. One of the best on this site.

Horrible gameplay experience. Many bugs and it's unclear how to progress very often. The creator cannot design games well or code so they use RPGM and still fail to make a cohesive game experience. Cheats are basically required to progress in the game which says a lot about how bad it is.

If you just want the scenes, they're pretty good. I don't know if the grueling game experience is worth it though!

If it wasn't for the gameplay, I'd give this a 4.5/5 due to the art but the gameplay is exceedingly bad.

Recently played the latest expansion. Before that, I had not played the game for about 1.5 years. I noticed how the game has changed qualitatively. The characters are revealed. The ability to draw the author has greatly increased. There are mini games. It is very pleasant to spend time in this game, nice visuals, not stressful music. And the way the main character acts like. - At first he is very cautious, but at the right time he is capable of decisive and daring actions, which makes the sex scenes more sensual. There are also interesting events in the game with Easter eggs, references. I recommend the game)
And also to support the author, he really deserves it.

I really like the style, the character design, how the quests develop and especially the scenes. But there are a couple of things that I didn't like. The First is that to unlock some scenes (Daisy and Douei mainly) you have to wait for the plantings to grow, and you have to wait a long time, in simple terms, it's a dead time. The second is that some quests are not very clear, for example how to meet Mrs. Adeera for the first time. it is wrong to tell the game the exact solution, but some more guidance would not be bad. Apart from these two minor defects I really love this game.

    Prozionite

On the positives the art is obviously way above par, and animations and sound effects greatly enhance scenes, this by itself is the only reason this game managed to get this score and not lower. If the art style appeals to you then the scenes won't disappoint.

However, this game fails from all the same trappings as other poorly thought out RPGM games. The maps are way to big with way to little to do in them, there's a teleportation option if you enable cheats to make travel smoother. I didn't realize you had to enable cheats for this and it's a massive QOL improvement so I'd reccomend doing that first thing.

This game also uses a full 24 hour cycle for time as opposed to the simple morning/afternoon/evening/night cycle you see in games like Summertime Saga or What a Legend. This is a massive blunder imo as most characters have less than four things they do every day anyways. Characters will spend multiple hours doing the same activity and at that point, there's little reason why the game needed an hourly time system. This means you will usually have to fast forward time multiple times per day.

These two factors combined totally break up the flow state that a sandbox game needs to have to function. The ideal is to be able to go anywhere on the map and probably find an event to do with without having to open the guide/schedule, or skip forward time. Because the map is so annoying to navigate and it's impossible to memorize all the various characters schedules, you end up breaking out your phone after every event, checking when another relevant event is, and skipping time to that point. Otherwise you'd just aimlessly wander the map when there might not be an event anywhere in sight!

The MC is a little confusing, in the intro it seems like he's just discovered sexual arousal for the first time but afterward his thoughts are way less innocent than the intro implies. I think the intro should be altered so that the MC is always a perv and not so innocent. The English is also not so good unfortunately.

Great to see the amount of progress made on this game the from past 6 or so months. Some of the best 2d art I've seen as well. Very good game overall.

    Mild constructive criticism:
    - I think the aunt shouldn't take her tits out right away when doing a massage in the early stages.

    v0.2.6.1

    It's alright.
Sandbox is bringing it really down though, there is no reason why it should be one. It doesn't do any favours for this game because it's super linear and it only forces you to grind for money/affection. Characters don't react any different at 300 affection than at 0, it only makes possible to progress through event list.
Also you need to progress other characters stories if you want to progress with certain characters (mom, neighbours, fairy), so there is absolutely no point in it being sandbox than to waste your time. It would work better as kinetic novel since it basically is one, there are no real choices.

Great game, Art is fantastic, there’s complaints of the English writing, but it’s not distracting. It move the plot along just fine. Love the descent update. 12.21.22

you can tell this is a great project to get behind, has multiple avenues for you to explore. Regularly updated story and CG.

Good art, but unless you go crazy on cheating to reduce the griding, it is annoying to play this game.

Did the dev play his own game? Well, you wake up in your bed, then you have to decide to wake up quickly or sleep a little more and be forced to watch a repeated scene. However, to progress the game you'll have to skip a lot of days and just some extra clicks in "waking up" is already a tedious and annoying task.

That's how you play the game: skipping days to match the correct requirements to progress (i.e waiting for a crop to be ready for harvest). There is no quick button to skip days, you do things manually. Even the cheat option doesn't work because it isn't counting for the crops to grow.

I tried the game without cheating, then the grinding annoyed me to hell, so I started to use it, but finally dropped my playthrough.

Also, what is the point of having a quest log since all the progress with the girls is on the phone? To access it you have to do more actions than simply going to the quest log which means extra clicks and more annoyances.

Finally, you've done a lot of quests and have barely any progress in the story at all. This has been developed since 2020 and I'm writing in 2022 but we have like 3 vaginal sex scenes?? Thats all?

My two stars rating is for the effort to create this, but a game that annoys the player and delivers almost nothing shouldn't get scored highly, IMO, and I say that despiting having to grind all my way through other games even worse than this but also more rewarding.

TL;DR: Play it if you can bear the suffering of the griding, I'm better off wasting my time on something else.

One of the best Games on this Site, quite a masterpiece already!
The Night Scenes are just so damn good. Joyce is a great new character would love to see her in a Night/Sleep Sex scene. Also Art style 9.69/10.

What a damn shame and waste of gorgeous art this game is.

I’m only gonna repeat what other said, but based on art alone this game is 10/5. Gorgeous girls, beautiful textures, expressions, sounds, animations, kinks. I mean it’s the stuff of dreams….

It is, however, an unplayable mess. Just download a full save, watch the scenes, and save yourself from unexpected crashes and abysmal gameplay.

Daily Lives of Out Countryside has beautiful art, but extremely slow obtuse progression, and is extremely repetitive. However, the art is 10/10, so I recommend cheating your way through it so that you can see it
