"All projects are run by the same people, run into the same issues and therefore should take the same amount of time"
Still blows my mind how half the people that comment on this site use it to "expose" a dev instead of just leaving the thread.
All of the games listed are run trough patreon, handdrawn h games not made by triple a studios, release with about the same amount of content, have a similar story so how many same adjectives do you need more to make a comparison ?
Guess we first need to duplicate Boyoni and only after that we (((maybe))) can say which version is better the original or the copy

"Things unrelated to development outside of the content that's being developed with no regards for the people working on it and the issues they might encounter"
WHY ISN'T EVERYONE THE SAME?? I THOUGHT IF THINGS ARE SIMILAR THEY WORK THE SAME WAY
The games you listed aren't even in the same engine lmao imagine comparing that. I thought this site was 18+

mate its only out for game-testers which is 60$, and they will never put it out, the game-testers are atm playing the game to verify if there is anything the devs missed
Eh, I know early-release is a common perk in Patreoned game devs, but I think that's reversed -- the people paying should get the game all polished, not have to pay and test it too.
Just off the top of my head so don't quote me on this, but how about a beta public release to let the masses test it (maybe still using the old graphics), then send the polished/bugfixed version to the supporters?

The devs test the game but they play it on a certain way, so normally they recrute or make a tier with alot of perk and giving the role testers, i understand that point of view that if we paying we dont have to work to find bugs, but some of us see it has a little extra support, and if they dont know about these bugs it can be annoying later on when we play it, atm for what Oni sayed a few hours ago the game is crashing randomly for alot of the testers and they fixing it now, the good thing is the supporters have different specs old and new and variety of mobiles to test it, so lets see if they find anything else after the fix, i was expecting these to happen when alot its to be implemented.

 By such standarts it would be silly to compare one soccer player to another if they are not playing in the same team.
"Oh how dare people compare Ronaldo to Messi, they don't have the same nationality, height nor playing for the same club..."
See how stupid your formula is ?
Érgo: not each attribute needs to match to draw a conclusion

This is not aimed at you, I hope you don't take it personally. These thoughts occurred to me when I read the above statement.

I think people are mostly just venting their frustration. It certainly "feels" like a scam when you pay someone (some of us actually do or at least used to) what amounts to a subscription and you get nothing in return for months, let alone basically a year. I've completely stopped supporting early access and mostly stopped supporting Patreon for this reason. There's little to no accountability for developers other than us bitching about them online.

I think things get testy because on top of that, it's irritating when people defend this behavior. Yes, making art takes time. Yes, making games is incredibly complex. Yes, people leave and then you gotta unravel their spaghetti code. Sure, but these are challenges everyone faces. And some engines are harder than others sure. But look, people still pull off making games. Many others give up. Others continue making promises while making excuses. And I'll buy a good excuse once, twice, maybe even three times. But a years worth of excuses? We're venturing into "simping" territory at this point.

Moral of the story: don't promise something you can't deliver, and especially don't ask people to pay for that thing. And if you do, don't be surprised if those people (and the people who leech off of them) get mad and post mean things about you online.

On the bright side, playing it from the beginning again would not be such a chore as it used to be (pretty much every update forced us to start from the beginning...)

Fair enough, I can agree with most things I just always thought the best way to show a dev that you do not appreciate delays is by not only stopping to give them money but also stop giving them your time. Both positive and negative feedback still is "activity" that will draw more people to something so imo just "ignoring" bad games/devs gives them less attention.
