Yeah it will be summarily ignored and actually expanded upon. Some ghosts ARE manifestations of big concepts or just dark energies, but our main cast of ghosts do have backstories and lives they have likely forgotten.
Lets see. Ripped purple leggings, character silhouette looks like uzi doorman if she was a human, and I believe it see a hint of midriff. Meaning she is wearing a crop top of some kind. My guess is that she's dark verse Sam.

1) Yes, I grew up a big fan of the series myself, and when I realized what adult games could do and how parody games were a large market, I thought how good of an existing world DP would make for such a genre. Nostalgic reboot fans as well as young boys having grown into adult men online with an eagerness to jerk off to old cartoons? Seemed like a match made in heaven! Very glad to be doing my little part in producing a quality game as well as honoring the fans of the OG series.I am excited to see the launch build of this game! I've been following for a bit and I love the concept for this. The whole saving an alternate dimension with both versions of the characters running into each other and stuff is straight up like older cartoons used to do and I love it!
I've really enjoyed Danny phantom as a kid so getting essentially a danny phantom reboot + lewds continuation is gonna be a blast! Two sams, two maddies, and probably two Desiree's and embers sounds like fun time
Also i 100% agree on the choice to take it linear, as you can focus your efforts on what is there rather than spreading yourselves thin. Plus it will feel even more like a tv show! er well an adult one anyway.
One of your posts mentioned a shop, so is it like amity park where you can roam around the town until your ready to continue the story? Also have you thought about adding something like side missions? Something episodic in between story beats like how the show was mostly episodic.
I guess an example would be like after a sam focused quest was done, you could have a smaller mission where Danny and another character or characters could fight a ghost or do something that can help them bond .

Not that it matters, as you're gonna do you, but the wiki does propose something kinda similar to that, where the season 1 ghosts that state or imply being human-- Desiree, Sidney Poindexter, Dorathea, Ember, etc, being human spirits, with the bigger, season 2 ghosts like Clockwork, Undergrowth, or Nocturne being Manifestations.
Oh yeah, I call that the Butch Bullshit Retcon because according to him all the "human ghosts" are are in fact just interdimensional monsters with eighth-grader syndrome, not the spirits of humans who passed on and became ghosts be they benevolent or malignant.
