It would tell the development team which direction they should go with in whatever game replaces Melody and DMD.
Neither game will last a whole lot longer, so they can use the responses to best decide which direction to go in, the age of the MC and locations for events, languages to include and whether it should be a game like Melody, or one like DMD.
Not having done the survey, I don't know if that's how they phrased it, but questions like "What languages should we offer/What age should the MC be/What locations would you like to see?" all seem to get at that stuff more directly than "Where are you from and what age are you?"

It's not a big deal, but I remain skeptical that survey is purely for in-house purposes.

There is no way to make 100% sure from the language you use, where you from. After all you can be in Japan but speaking french.
I hope we get more french love in the game soon:)

Where they are from, tells them where the players live, and that also tells them the languages spoken.
Some people speak more than one language, so if you ask them to check a box for languages spoken, you would get that info, but have no idea what their native language is.

In the US, you have a mix of languages being spoken by different people, but the native language is English. The people living in the US have to learn English to get by on a daily basis. The same goes for other countries. So you get the most important question answered when you ask where they live because that tells you the language they can speak and in most cases, the person responding would be telling you their native language with that answer.

There could very well be some very minor marketing in that survey, but without your email, you will never notice any of it, because they can't send it to you.

150% correct there...No asking for email and MalwareBytes accepted the site, so no funny business going on with it. If on;y wanting to see pics then they are already posted here. Though Melody discussion and pics should be done on it's own thread

Maybe they're simply mapping their fan base before their next game, I dunno. Two games with older MC and very young girls/women, maybe they want to change things up.

i'm semi d-route and d gave f good time.

i thought melody was older but on that bonus pic she looked just a bit older than d in dmd.

Well, my answers certainly won't help to push things in a new direction, then . . .

I can't think of a reason for asking about this stuff that doesn't involve advertising or sale of data to advertisers.
In today's internet world, there are lots reasons to be skeptical, so I definitely get where you're coming from. But really? You can't think of a single reason that a game developer might want to know more about the demographics of his audience for reasons that don't involve nefarious marketing purposes...? Cynicism at that level must take devoted practice.

Not having done the survey.....
LOL. Okay. Nevermind.

It's not a big deal, but I remain skeptical that survey is purely for in-house purposes.
If you think checking a few boxes on a SurveyMonkey survey will result in some kind of negative repercussions for those that participate.... then I'm pretty sure that there's literally nothing I can say that will sway your opinion, so all I have to offer is discount prices on tinfoil :)

if i was MrDots i think it would be very interesting to know who’s playing and enjoying the work i put out there.

maybe they’ll use it to form their next game maybe not. i don’t think they’ll stray far from their winning formula though lest they want to piss off 4000+ patrons who want to see a young drop dead gorgeous girl date them (aka the MC)

I did try to make it clear that it was the wording of the survey, as implied by the post, rather than the mere fact of carrying out a survey. Like I said, if they want to know what people want or are interested in, asking them what they want and are interested in seems like a more direct way of doing that than asking questions which, undeniably, are exactly the kind of questions they'd be asking if they were gathering data for either sale to or use by some analytics firm.

As I said, it's not even that big of a deal, I was just voicing a suspicion. It's entirely voluntary and appears not to involve any actual personal data. I don't think voicing my suspicion is any kind of big deal, either, let's all relax and try to get through the wait. Minutes turning into hours over here.

Really? So what is the name of the girl that you meet in the photography studio? She later says that she is a lesbian
That was a MK joke.
MK is Mortal Kombat btw.
The nintendo version of MK Armageddon have Khameleon/female/ as playable character.
XBOX and Playstation have Chameleon/male/ in MK Armageddon.

I am impatient to find out what the message about DMD will be that he also mentioned when he posted the link for the survey. It's a full day before the scheduled release.

Hopefully, it is not the message we all dread them saying, final release.
Because then there would be riots, wars, famine (sexual), French fans building guillotines, 1/2 of the rest of the fans will be climbing trees with rope in their hands, and the other 1/2 tying loops in the end of the rope..
And the other 3rd, well they weren't really fans, but they just decide to help out because it looked like fun.

Oh, and the MrDots team will have to go into the Witness Protection Program.
It's either the WPP, or wake up and look out the window at a bunch of half naked, drooling guys staring in the window with puppy dog eyes, for the rest of their lives.
In fact, they would look a lot like sex crazed zombies.

This is said in jest, as a way to show the team that we like their work and that we hope they will keep it up for a long time.
Oh, and as a warning of what could happen.
