Yes, it was a good narrative device, the jealousy to move the story forward and use it as a jumping off point for her to start admitting her feelings for Daniel. Just a reminder that Daniel was not attracted to Sofia, he simply used it to make Lana jealous.

Daniel is usually an OC who is known for his ideas to be able to fuck Lana, with things that are very unorthodox, and when he discovers something he can use to his advantage, he does it. But in his mindset he's not doing anything wrong to his mother, he's simply been giving her what he thinks she deserves and also showing her love.
I really don't think it's sexually poor to see them in only one scenario, when it had a good variety of positions. But I do consider it a bit short compared to other chapters, but thanks to that we had a more interesting backstory as well since it was one of the chapters of ID where they explored more of their characters and the thoughts they have.
Yes, from this chapter they awakened more of Lana's feelings for Daniel, even when they are barely going to have sex. It is Lana who tells him that she waits to fuck her. Which let see how little by little she herself fell more into the hole of pleasure.
When Sofia interrupted him, it can be considered a "MacGuffin", which is a narrative device to move the plot along. In fact during the whole chapter Sofia was the MacGuffin that moved the plot forward, since she indirectly helped to provoke Lana's jealousy, also by giving Daniel a blowjob she made him angry for listening to his mother with Alex, which led Lana to feel guilty and try to think Daniel where Daniel took the opportunity to go with his mother to the store and buy what he had to buy without knowing that it was a plan of Martha and Sofia so that Sofia could fuck Daniel which leads us to what happened in ID9 and ID10.
