I used a Autumn HDRI irc, turned it pretty much all the way down, then spent a good while trying to get a little bloom out of it, had to drop most the settings for that right down aswell. Then changed the way the surface of then sun looked in Photoshop, just used a round brush and made it a little darker, or very light purple ish i guess then some light spots and smudged it.

I actually quite like that, gives a kinda bleached effect, may be just my taste though.
