OK Without CPU at 4K it got to 17 minutes with just 72% complete. seems the best way to go for me is to use just the GPU at 1080 and average time is average 15 minutes per render. i would rather not use the CPU at is was running circa 95oC so dont want to be replacing thermal paste on a new laptop anytime soon!! thanks for all your help on this to everybody.
Big tip from me: Google "Three point lighting." Applying that technique makes renders look way better.
I was just about to say. I can do that on my 2060 in 10mins maybe less. I don't think the gpu is on.

That's pretty good, my 1070 finishes it in 12minutes~, 30xx series is a monster for rendering.
Yea the 3080 with 10gb seems to do right by itself, but thought it would be faster, but then again I have only been doing this for just at two months. The 3090 wasn't and still isn't available any where... Running a couple of large scenes now that will take an hour plus a few. First time full scene with two people. we'll see....
On the bright side I got a feature working that can switch between first-person narration and second-person narration from the options menu!
