Probably the same dilemma as the other poster. I'm not sure whether or not keeping a outdoor night scene looks better with low light. This results in a higher amount of noise/firefly if I pick a faster render setting. On the other hand, using more lights make it less natural looking.

There does seem to be more chance of fireflies on dark scenes. So they might need more passes to get them. I've seen the dev behind Inevitable Relations rendering dark scenes and that's usually the issue he runs into as well.

Adding any more light to this scene would certainly do it a disservice though.

if you render in 4K and downsampling it to 1080p you eliminate most noise.

I did another render, with both lights but the second light much much lower than before -> that also reduced noise and its still looking dark enough. I also think if your render is a onetime ART (piece), than darkness might be your friend.
BUT if you render for a game it should be a little bit brighter.
- Just a personal thought.

The render you have here, it pretty nice. I like it how it is.

And that's what most people forget about Iray, it needs light to render anything, else it will just give you noise and fireflys. Meaning, even in the darkest of dark places in your scene there MUST be light, (not visible in the art itself, so a very very low setting has to be used) else Iray can't do it's job. This is why you should read up on 3 point lighting guys, it helps a lot. You can still let it look like a nightscene with really dark shadows, but even the shadows need to be lighted else iray can't work as it should ;)

Quick one before bed. Working on speeding up my renders. This one took about 25 minutes, then downsampled and compiled in Photoshop. Positioned the outside light too high and killed the shadows on the floor a bit, oh well. Live and learn. Sexy Pose 1080P.png

OK...

That woman(?) body shape and make up is giving me nightmares...
I see you have post a lot of renders with that custom model...
I think she(?) would be perfect for a horror themed game tho, she(?) could be the villain and inspire all the right emotions associated with a villain.

Good renders -beside the model- tho.

I'm really into the alternative, goth, emo, piercings, tattoos, fitness, muscles, etc. But I can understand how that's not what most people are into. She's the only one who looks like that in my game plans though, which I think is good because it makes her features stick out more.

Other than her Bolt On Tits I just see Rogue from X-Men

Was trying out rendering in 4k and then downsizing to 1920x1080 it in Photoshop, seems like most of the noise blurs out but I render it with my laptop and took almost two hours and forty five minutes to render...

SFW.

"Picking up the girls"
Girls4kdownsized.jpg

Need to make some changes to my custom models...
They look different once rendered :V

NOTE: The two girls on the left are NOT and they will NEVER be involved in any pornographic situation, just wanted to clarify before someone tries to jump me
