RTX3090 here and I'm using the studio driver, not the game driver. Better quality renders.
Not sure what you mean. What is a "studio driver" (or game driver for that matter)? Driver for... video card? Daz3D Studio? And where do I get these drivers? Thanks.

I just looked it up. You can get them from NVIDIA website. Game Ready Drivers are what comes with GPUs, and are optimized and updated regularly for games. Studio Drivers are updated less frequently, but are more optimized for creative work using apps like Photoshop, Daz, Blender, etc. Though how much of a difference that actually makes, idk

Yes, it's the video card driver.

From the Nvidia website:

GAME READY DRIVERS VS NVIDIA STUDIO DRIVERS
Whether you are playing the hottest new games or working with the latest creative applications, NVIDIA drivers are custom tailored to provide the best possible experience. If you are a gamer who prioritizes day of launch support for the latest games, patches, and DLCs, choose Game Ready Drivers. If you are a content creator who prioritizes reliability for creative workflows including video editing, animation, photography, graphic design, and livestreaming, choose Studio Drivers. Do a little bit of both? No worries, either can support running the best games and creative apps.

Nice! Thanks for the info, I'll check them out as I rarely play games anymore (except visual novels).

I work for the best photorealism. The more accurate the calculations, the better. I also use both CPU and GPU rendering. CPUs use integer calculations, GPUs use floating point, which are less accurate. It takes longer, but I'm not trying to churn out dozens of renders or animations per day. All my stuff is done at 4 or 8K. You'll see less of a difference at lower resolutions.

6pak2go right now there is no difference between the Studio Drivers and the Game Ready drivers of the same version. Been that way for a while with nVidia. Byte by Byte compare will show it.

You are correct that there are many more versions of the Game Ready Drivers, but the current Studio Driver 511.65 would have been exactly the same as Game Ready 511.65 if there was one available, sometimes the GR stuff just leapfrogs like currently with GR at 511.79.

more thorough testing of the same drivers, plus I think (but am not 100%) you don't get the GForce Experience app with the Studio drivers.
RTX3090 here and I'm using the studio driver, not the game driver. Better quality renders.
There will be zero difference in the renders between the two types of drivers, but the Studio Drivers could possibly be more stable. NVidia's drivers are very mature, and driver crashes are a rare experience, but a graphics shop won't risk a multi-hour render on the possibilty, hence the better tested and lagging Studio Drivers.
If that's the case, then why have two different drivers?
BTW, I also have a 3090 (water cooled) it is a beast, but I plan on upgrading to a 4090 when they are finally here.
