I'm with you on "this is just [whatever]" defense doesn't really fly for people who are invested in the subject. Never turn down constructive criticism if it comes form a place of love (which is as rare as good writing in adult games

It would be interesting for Mom, however, to be able to handle her libido (though she is quite a closet perv, if you see the flashbacks), considering she got access to other survivors and, I don't know, some secret hideout near an adult store she could've made for herself when she's out on the runs. Stuff like anal scene(to not frustrate players with too much build up) can have exacerbating factors for lapse in judgement, not her just being horny. Like booze , or maybe fever delirium and her mixing up mc with the late father .
The gate unleashed moment can be after some big event, where she starts seeing her son as more of a man and less of a kid to take care off. What do you think would work for that? Personal moment of helplessness ->inspiring save ->suspension bridge effect. Maybe something like capture by slavers(also nice to have "non-damaged goods for better price" excuse ), captivity to the point of desperation, mc comes saves the day, being helped by dog and his good memory/perceptiveness to track her down?
They did that "reaffirming love crush" moment for Juliette when he was talking about his dreams after licker save, so I'm expecting something like that for Elizabeth too anyway.
