My first time playing this game was this update. Kinda feel like I walked into a funeral on accident. For what it's worth I thought it was a great AVN, very hot, and intriguing world building. I thought the final words at the end from Ruikiru showed real class. Y'all should be proud you made it this far and created something of quality.
It's too bad it will probably go unfinished (especially since it sounds like it was just 1~ update from wrapping up.
Still, I wouldn't let anyone new to this title let that dissuade them from playing it. This is definitely in the top tier of AVNs (especially incest-focused ones). Emotionally rich, heavy in sexual tension and a truly gripping narrative at times.
If this is truly it for this one, thank you to the devs for their impressive work!

I know some people are salty about the update but they should realise it's a miracle the game got another update at all.

DMS's situation is indeed unfortunate, but given the unique situation as we are only 1.5 versions away from the short end, I think it makes sense for Ryukiru to continue the last stretch after some time has passed to allow things to settle.
From an ethics standpoint, it will be hard to know for sure what Hot Tomato would have preferred given the unique situation, so I don't think it's really productive to continue this angle of thought. Of course one can argue silence doesn't mean consent, but this has also got to be balanced with the fans (especially those who made some form of monetary contribution). They deserve better than be left hanging so close to the end.
From an operational POV, DMS is in a much better situation than similar games or novels where the creator is unable to finish due to similar circumstances. We have someone here who has worked on the project since the start and whose writing style has influenced the the story presentation all through. Ryukiru also has the assets available and some broad direction of Hot Tomato's vision, but no details on the ending.
This is about as seamless as one can get when getting someone else to finish a novel, manga or movie. So maybe a good compromise would be for Ryukiru to continue with his own AVN in the mean time and allow another 6 months to pass before we get more confirmation that Hot Tomato ain't coming back before working on the last bits of DMS.
I empathize some might consider such a compromise uncanonical, so perhaps V0.9 and future V1.0 can be released as a separate supplement pack to the original V0.8. Those who would rather just let the story end "naturally" by that time in memory of Hot Tomato's work can just ignore the additions while those that seek closure albeit imperfect can get some consolation as well.

I agree with your point about waiting for 6 months (or enough time for it to be one year since the last communication from Hot Tomato) before beginning work to add a 'DLC' ending to give this great AVN An ending.
I would like to see the missing MC/Elizabeth sexy time.
If it was as good as the Elizabeth/Juliet sexy time we got in the most recent rev, it would be an Amazing extended scene capping the MC's journey.
As to the ending of the story, I'd like something that made sense given the trajectory of the latest main story arc - the invasion of this human survivor 'army.'
If Ruykiru was to undertake this, we'd certainly need to be patient as he already has his own AVN and $ subscribers to take care/be responsive to.
Whatever the future holds - we got an update and there was some great content in it.

I agree with the balance with the fans, those who paid deserve something too, If he can continue this and pickup the game just to make that balance, that would be great! at least there is a closure where MC will go all the way with both girls. The question is if he can deliver a hot straight sex that is on the same level with Elizabeth/Juliet knowing that this dev's Ruykiru's passion is lesbianism that even Hot Tomato cannot. I'm playing both route, non lesbian and lesbian route so I can tell the difference, and for me if you're not playing the lesbian path, and if it's not your cup of tea, then you are a missing out on a lot. I still prefer the lesbian route if I am in the mood because I can see a quality scenes ( there is one of the best lesbian scene in all games out there), while MC's scenes are just okay, its not lacking, just okay (maybe that will change someday,maybe) , just enough to satisfy me when I am in the mood for mom & son thing but still the other route's scenes for me is on a different level.I would like to see the missing MC/Elizabeth sexy time.

There is indeed a lot of low effort slop out there, but there's also a lot of try-hard 'too much effort' slop. Where developers put the cart before the horse by wasting too much time on boring story shit instead of the sex scenes. This game fell into the latter category. It didn't help that the character models came from Honey Select either, and they all looked the same age. So there was never anything really special here. The mother-daughter scene would have been exponentially hotter if she were a loli. (And it wasn't being mostly narrated by the daughter and in the third-person.)

fairly certain there was different dialog based on choices either way if my previous choices wont matter or if it is as you said an illusion of choice all along i have no interest in this update or continuation of this game.
And I would love recommendations for a dark mother-son incest game where they're the only two characters in it. But every single time, there always has to be some other obligatory side bitch in the story like a sister, aunt, cousin, girlfriend, neighbor, childhood friend, etc. Every game that ever comes close to avoiding that harem trash gets abandoned. And if a good mother-son incest game wasn't rare enough, try finding ANY mother-daughter incest porn of ANY kind in literally anything. Woman on girl is as rare as it gets, and when it does happen, more often than not they look the same age and have the same body type. Even this game couldn't be bothered to let the daughter have a bald cunt to contrast with her mom's deliciously hairy one.
I'm not, actually. You assume I hate the game because I said there was nothing special about it. Meanwhile, you're the one talking in circles when you say it has unique things when earlier you called it a bare bones last of us ripoff. One of the most overrated games of all time IMO. But I call this and other games like it a try-hard because look at where they always end up. Abandoned. Years (or in some cases weeks) of 'slow burn' development down the drain because somebody got off more on cooking than eating. This came out in 2021 and wasted so much time on the 'build up' that it ultimately failed to reach whatever finale they were going for. Imagine where it could have been by now if it weren't for all the filler. Thinking people playing a porn game care more about the action and drama than the frequency and quality of sex scenes is the definition of missing the forest for the trees.
Also, male protagonist = automatically cliche in my book. Doesn't matter if it has multiple protagonist with some of them being women. A dude in the picture ruins the picture.

I think you need to work on your media literacy and reading comprehension. Porn is a very obvious umbrella term for anything NSFW, including eroges. AKA Erotic Visual Novels. Not just real porn. And I fucking love pubic hair on women. I'm going to disagree with you about Deadmoon Survival.
I enjoyed the slowburn approach of the dev and was happy to be a $ supporter.
What you refer to as 'boring story shit' I refer to as creating an immersive world within which this story occurs.
HS does limit the choice of character models, but I like the models used for the 3 mains in this story and I did not think they all looked the same age.
As to loli - sure it would have been nice but given that the dev originally included Patreon for support - Patreon rules expressly forbid that among other things.
So - two different opinions about Deadmoon Survival ...

I would say that it's good to see at least some sort of content, even if it's scraps welded together. Kinda sucks with it only being lesbian content, but there isn't much more to ask for in this situation, getting this is more than I've expected, god bless Ruykiru.

How can a man get it so wrong on every decision so damn consistently that it gets into his head hard enough to go full radiosilence and wash hands off his own passion project.
