Ok, I'm about halfway through the game now, and it's getting increasingly hard to want to continue. Why does the MC have to be such a goddamn pussy!? And so fucking stupid to boot? What is with 90% of devs and making the most cringe MCs? Whether they are insanely stupid or pathetic pussies or just some combination of negative traits that makes them insanely insufferable and unlikable.

It's getting really annoying reading this pathetic twat's inner monologues. He keeps waxing poetic about burning the world down for his family and being the one to save them, but when it matters, he ALWAYS freezes up and just stands there like a deer in the headlights waiting for someone else to rescue him instead of the other way around.

I am really hoping he "man's up" at some point b/c he's not only pathetically weak physically, but pathetically weak mentally. He honestly seems to have no redeeming qualities. God forbid it's the end of the world and a beta soyboy like this is the literal last man on Earth. I swear if it wasn't for the mom and sister models, who are very attractive, I would have deleted this long ago.

Edit: LOL! And as if the game was just waiting for me to complain about it before showing any real growth for the MC; just as I post about this, the MC finally starts to act like a badass...ok well, a tiny bit of a badass. He still has a loooonnnggggg way to go, but there was finally something that can be considered real growth for his character, and a (positive) movement from the god awful stagnation in his character development that has been present for pretty much the entire game so far.

I really hate how much damage the harem power fantasy games/VNs have done to storytelling, and how entitled people like you get when everything doesn't go according to your vision of a real gigachad male that can never cry because showing emotions = bad.

Seems humor triggers people too, just like character development. Every day I'm more happy I'm not making the usual harem fuckfest VN and actually get time to develop the relationships.

I have no issues with character development when it's done right. My issue with this pussy ass MC is that he ISN'T showing any character development for like 60 - 70% of the way through the game. Or at least he wasn't. Hence the edit to my comment. Whether that minor development was a flash in the pan or a sign of things to come, I don't know and I'll have to wait and see. Moreover, I also don't need an MC to be an ultra giga chad alpha male b/c more often than not, those ones tend to be full of toxic masculinity and annoying in their own way.

Reading messages like yours (even if you at least admit he changes later) is like reading a printing machine putting out the same text every 3 pages of the thread.

Which, by the way, has been one of the biggest losses in the AVN genre ever.

This game is so good, yet it had even much more potential. Many stars aligned to hamper the development of the game. First the controversies, the harassments, then unfortunately the dev own losses. It’s almost a miracle that we got at least a bit of closure.

Look, I know this is completely off the table right now. But it would be awesome if after some time, the dev could find the help and the motivation to expand the game and create a, let’s say, Directors cut so to speak, with the original vision he had for the entire game. This already happened with other games, why it cannot happen here too?

I know this is just wishful thinking, with next to zero chances of ever happening. Even more so because this dev does not make a living from this business like in the other instances where this happened (Now&Then, TID, I’m looking at you right now… )
But yeah, hope springs eternal…

Well, I can't speak for others, but I was not attacking the dev at all -- and I would never do such a thing. I believe in criticizing the art, not the artist. I can see where you're coming from, and I appreciate your frustrations, but from my point of view, I have just played through so many VNs (especially recently) where the MCs are just pathetic cowards, wimps, etc. and they seem to have no redeeming traits. And it really wears on you to read a story from the point of view of such a "weak" character. Moreover, this usually never changes and they tend stay the same from start to finish and the only reason things go their way is due to overwhelming plot armour or deus ex machina in their favour. Hence they show no growth at all and it really gets tiresome to read.

That was the major point behind my first comment. Coming off of the last couple VNs I have read (and had to drop part way b/c of horribly written MCs), I was just expressing my frustrations and wondering whether this would be another one of those VNs that I'd end up dropping, or whether there was hope for this MC. Because the thing is, I am actually really enjoying the rest of the story. The models are great, and the sex scenes are incredible. Sure it's a slow burn, but the way it is done is really really hot and it makes you really want that eventual payoff in their relationship! It's much better than a lot of other VNs, where the MC is balls deep in half the female cast barely an hour into the game.

I've played countless Ren'Py games, but this is the only one that I couldn’t stop playing — from the very beginning to the very end, I was completely immersed.


I don’t know if you have plans for a sequel or any additional story content, but I can’t help feeling a deep sense of emptiness knowing that the story ends here.


So, who exactly is the protagonist? Is there a thread or post somewhere that explains the things not revealed in the game? Or do you plan to share that information in the future?

This may have been answered already, but what was the context of the two endings? Is the son a clone? An alien? Was the zombie apocalypse planned? Maybe I missed it but the only thing I could gather was that the father is alive, secretly an evil scientist, and the son is some test subject connected to the zombie virus. I see the dev is done and this ending was rushed due to irl reasons, so closure will never be gotten in game form. I'm just confused af about what the story even was.

Ah, thanks. I personally think the "good" ending made more sense than the ending where MC joins Syel, but that's considering the version of the game we got. I suppose had we gotten the full vision the other ending would've had better build up and made more sense. Oh well. That's closure, enough at least.

The start of the Syel ending is basically what would have become the extended storyline and mid point of the story or so. And then HotTomato was planning to have like 4 different endings after that long arc, one being a bit like the current settle down ending but without the twist at the end.

Thats great to read. Thx for sharing this bit of information. Again, and at risk of sounding repetitive, what an even greater game this one could have become under different circumstances.

Albeit, If I'm being totally honest, I cannot picture a DmS version in which we completely leave Elisabeth and Jul behind for a sizeable chunk of the game.
That would have required some really good storytelling to be "palatable" so to speak. Not that I consider it impossible, but having invested so much time and emotional effort on the girls, just to leave them aside for half of the game... it's hard to imagine.

For some reason I've only discovered this game on the final update, so in a way I'm lucky I played all content in a row I guess.

The girls are cute, have great personality and the writting is stellar, although both endings gave me more questions than answers. Yes, I was already assuming that Elliott was involved, but still, the way it happened still didn't explain everything. I understand the dev has his irl issues, and it's understandable, but can't say I'm disapointed.

Still, highly recommendable game for everyone. This how incest is well implemented, while I like incest in games, I like when it gives a sense of taboo, of confliction or even bond between characters. Being family members for the sake of being family members sucks, but when it's done this way, it only enriches he plot and the game overall. I just wished the ending answered a bit more about the plot, and what the hell were the specials and the rest of the mutants. As well I'm wondering why the mother still has feelings for Eliott after that flashback, or they don't even wonder about the rest of the family, like an aunt or anything else, but it is what it is.

The only criticism I might give to the game is the amount of lewds. I'm not against with the slow burn at all, on the contrary, it gave depth to the story and personality to the chracters, but still hoped that more content was included in the end. But I assume the rushed ending had it's responsability.
