I didn't follow the dev other platforms but my bet is that bro got stuck and bailed hard from this, the project was too big, from the get go a bunch of systems like wardrobe and items, and way to many branchable patches.
a plot about a demon girl.
Patches with GF that could go fwb, exclusive, cheating on her and probably NTR.
Patches with sister that could go with being catch molesting her or not.
Patches of corruption with the mother or more romanceable that seemed pretty hard to write with the way dad was involved in the story.
Cheating with the GF best friend or not.

And it seems it would had at least one more branch with the male friend and a battle system? sheesh

These are what i remember at least, pretty hard to write a story with so many things, hope guy is safe and at some point drops with a rework that makes it more viable, i was loving the possible sister route after she catches the protagonist molesting her.

I was one of his first backers for the VN, and I suggested to him very early on to avoid adding additional cumbersome layers to it, such as inventory and "free roam mechanics," as it was his first experience building a game. He had primarily drawn comics before.
Unfortunately, an original art piece and a somewhat decent story were killed so quickly due to his stubbornness.

Sad to hear this GEMerald may never be finished. But I think you guys are right, all of these big ideas, it was scope creep. The guy didn't know if he wanted to make a visual novel or RPG Fuck-or-Fight shit with magic elements and a map system.

The truth is, you can do anything on Ren'Py, but it's hard as fuck. The Skyrim inventory system, combat system, minimap, magic, money system... bro tried to make something revolutionary and failed miserably, but props for having tried.

Truly unfortunate. The game had an interesting story with diverse yet believable characters. With its own custom ui and functions. One of the few better games on this site. Sad to see as of lately, a lot of good games are being abandoned.

There's a lot of previews to verify the progress, so either he's dead or is otherwise not in control of his online presence.

So SURELY Meorless will suddenly comeback soon and continue the game
