I love the stuff that Matt does on his Youtube channel, the ren'py and Daz tutorials have really helped me out getting started with my own game. One thing that is clear though when you watch his stuff, is that he is very much a perfectionist. I think this is why this game seems to be so slow in development and has changed a lot since the first version.
Trying my hardest not to fall into a similar trap with my game, but it's so easy to do, when you think you can just improve that one render or scene you did weeks ago, then you end up rewriting and rendering the whole damn thing. Sometimes we have to settle for "it's good enough".
Matt is also trying to be very ambitious with his project here, it's not a simple linear ren'py VN, the complexity and quality is very impressive but again that means development times will lengthen. When this one is complete pretty sure it will be one of the best games out there but it may be a long while before it is.
BTW, love Laura, sad to see others immediately turn off when a trans character is added. Hope we get to see a lot more of her in the future, in more than one way

This dev has posted every 80-89 days so this VN would not get the abandoned tag, this last time it went over the 90 day mark of no post is why the tag is up.
If and when a new update comes out it will be removed and the day count will start again.
When making a statement as if trans wasnt in it from the getgo. If you dont like trans, why are you even watching this game?
The trans character has always been there, and a plot point from the very first release.
I skipped the trans stuff im not hating but out of curiousity i looked at the content and saw how he delves into the politics of it and just got rid of the game .... and the game is abandoned im just telling you it probably one of the reasons why

Just replayed the intro. She just explains the difference between transsexual and transvestite. And takes a jab at woke people. Thats it.

Goes directly from that difference explanation into the kids story and her helping him.
These peoples' brains are so broken they're seeing trans politics where there are none. Something, something, boxers...

It's hard to blame people for being sensitive on one of the topics that is forced onto us by Hollywood and the mainstream media for the last 10 years, and which is reason for countless people being forced out of their jobs and made their life miserable and babies being gender changed because parents think thats what they have to do.
I also stopped playing Deeper at first, when she opened herself to the player and it took me a while before I continued the story. I also think it's good that we have good and normal content that touches such areas but blaming people for seeing trans politics where there are none, that you have to thank Hollywood, the state of California and the mainstream media for.

It's sad to read these kinds of comments, it's 2025, why are we going backwards as a society? My VN is focused on trans content, it's not everyone's cup of tea but neither are a lot of the types of content out there. There is enough people however interested in what I am doing to allow me to continue to develop my project.
Sad to read about the abandonment of this one, this game promised so much and I loved the trans character. Matt's youtube channel was hugely important to me as I begun learning Renpy and Daz, this game gave me exposure to his work. Hopefully it's just a delay in getting the content out, I know he's really implementing a lot of complex stuff with Deeper so progress is understandably slow.
