Nobody ever spends time outside in parks in the heat? You've apparently never been to Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, or southern California if you think nobody stays outside just because it's hot. (Yes, I know those aren't in the UK.) I live in a tropical country, so I know what hot truly is. If there are people willingly loiter around in a supposed extreme heat, then it's either not that hot or Britbongs are so done with shitty, rainy, and gloomy weather that they prefer to fry themselves alive.

Compared to a tropical country? Probably not that hot, then. Keep in mind how far north Britain is. I doubt it's even remotely as hot there for "extreme heat" as it is anywhere pretty much from Spain and further south.

Still, I wonder about your conception of what people elsewhere in the world actually do, because it's extremely common in many parts of the world to lounge outside in what is considered hot weather (even at the mid-110s with over 80% humidity). Hawaii is also tropical, the Middle East (Israel, Egypt, and as Bowsette s slave said, Turkey) is more desert-like (or savannah perhaps), and southern Mexico down to Peru have equatorial to semi-equatorial jungle climates. People still lounge outside in the heat in those places (and not only on the beaches, but obviously not in the heart of the jungle itself when it's dangerous like the Amazon).

There is no desert in Turkey. everywhere steppe. In places like Adana where it is 45 degrees, people get angry and shoot at the sun. Arab countries are much hotter than Turkey.

"Very hot" in the UK is relatively not that hot compared to a lot of places in the world. It rarely gets above 30C.

Started this very recently, I am quite early. I think it is well written but so far what really takes me out of immersion is... the "billionaire" thing. Very few things would have been different gamewise if Collier was a multi-millionaire worth 1/1000th what he is shown to be and the game would have made much more sense. Someone with a net worth of 43B$ disappearing on the eve of such a merger, would trigger a national financial crisis with stocks falling and people losing their jobs. Furthermore that person's ex-wife would have a much much bigger home, he would have a much much better car and all. All in all everything would be bigger, from the police on the job to the houses, the quality and price of the escorts Collier's eve is playing with etc.
Last but certainly not least in a game like this, his wife and prime suspect would have 100 policemen watching her or something and keeping away the media. She would also obviously be considered "at risk to run" instead of being granted bail.

Now, if Collier was a CEO of a big company and was personally worth 50-60 million pounds, then yes, it would make more sense. Such a person would take home, post-taxes like 1-2 million pounds per year or so from salary, dividends and investment returns.

If Warren Buffet was missing a few days before a big merger of Berkshire with with a similar one, you can rest assured the market would react quite badly and that his widow won't be allowed to leave without bail etc etc.

You should just play more and read in-game news. And then, you will understand that your changes would ruin the story. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it is pretty high up. Especially for a porn game.

Honestly, it's something that really turned me off from her. But I just can't bring myself to start another playthrough of this game, so I'll just finish it whatever path I'm on and call it good when it ends.

Don't think you visit her house if you are just friends with Ellie. I think you can take her home once and her Mom is outside to pick her up, but you don't meet the rest of the family. But thats all from memory and I haven't played in a while and definitely didn't try every single obscure path.
