It's amazing how those people who get it for free, and probably don't get the progress updates, bitch and moan and those people that do get the development updates don't.

However, for a brief overview of the last 7 months.

1) He's had a contractor who was meant to do some of the work on the mobile phone and computer bit run off with the cash so he's had to do it himself

2) He's moved office due to issues with a landlord misleading him about the internet connection strength in the last place he had. Meant he had to find somewhere new, set it all up, put in AC as the machines were overheating in the new place which took time to sort. He also had electrician's in to do re-wire and had the place decorated

3) As part of doing the last part of setting up his office he had a very large and very unfortunate accident with a hot glue gun, meaning he burnt his hands and fingers the point he wasn't able to do much actual work for a few months

4) He has done a complete re-do on the walkthrough, which will then be implemented into the game itself and not as a stand alone

5) In response to some of the criticism above, update 17 will include new content for all the major LI's and a few of the minor ones. I think he indicated that, depending on the routes and girls you have active, there are 6 different girls you can invite to the summer party.

He was transparent about the lot, gave people the knowledge they needed to stop paying when he stopped working if they wanted to. Told them when he had recovered so he could crack back on.

It's sad that people complain when WP is one of the most reliable and transparent devs on the site, providing possibly the hottest game along with that. People have no idea how difficult and complex it is to create even a linear game, never mind one with so many branches and with such scope and quality.

If you believe all of this then you're very naive (mildly put). We're talking here about a guy who could make 5335 renders in 188 days (i.e. over 28 renders per day) when GPUs were slower than they are today. Now he will make less than 0.5 render per day so over 50 times slower.

And yes, I had been a patreon but at this point I can't support such a guy. I will admit though that it's still one of the better games on the site but defending the dev blindly is just stupid and you can't blame people that they're annoyed.

I also lost interest in this VN because of the update cycle. I will replay it when it's finished.

But the leaker is at fault, we didn't need an update of an unfinished beta here.

Will this 0.17 version/chapter remain disconnected from the rest of the game, continuing with subsequent versions or is it just a one-time thing released for convenience and then integrated into the actual game :unsure:?

Not sure it was so much about defending the dev blindly, as much as pointing the irony of whining about free stuff.

The same person forcing the uploader to upload broken/unfinished betas. Resetting the update page. Which then wont show the full release cause of their min update cycle.

The same person forcing you to white knight for idiots.
