PC version modding should be easy to do, drop img folder in and override. Unless I've misunderstood your question?
run the compile.bat file, it should take a few seconds to generate one

Mild sadness at piss-poor reading comprehension aside, it'd be neat if down the road we could select image sprite packs in-game similar to Trials in Tainted Space and the like. I'm a sucker for good pixel-art, lewd or not.
Seems like development is going on at pretty much the same pace it has for years. You can see the latest updates at their blog linked in the first post in this thread, either by making a Blogger account and age verifying it (probably a bad idea tbh) or by checking the RSS feed.

No worries dont worry about taking time. Worrying and stressing too much about fast updates will just burn you out. Its not like if you did weekly updates people wouldnt be gnashing their teeth and moaning about lack of updates by thursday anyway.

Okay, but what if it's for modding the mod because I thought I liked one of these side-view mods but don't use the base (BEEESSS?) visuals that come with it?
...But then it turns out after actually making the mod of the mod, I don't think the original DoL art style meshes very well with this style, so perhaps not after all. Maybe someone will make a less anime side-view mod at some point.

yes, you need permissions from the authors if you want to reupload it, passing the links I posted around should be fine

Hah. I feel like there are some rather unfathomable ethical considerations on display here given that this is a forum explicitly built on sharing and redistributing things for free against the wishes of their creators... Mind you, I'm all in favor of people paying for what they want to support/see more of (as that's realistically the only way more of it will be made), and I'm also in favor of getting permission when you can...but the option that I wanted was not catered to and it took a pretty decent chunk of time and effort to fix that I wouldn't want anyone else to repeat, and so if somebody happened to also want that option and told me, I'd certainly upload it for them because that's just silly, drama queens be damned.
