The government knowing you play a game like this would get you major prison time in, like, two thirds of the world. It's not being "paranoid". There are people in prison in my country right now for tamer media than this. And if my government asks Google for their tracking information on a specific person, they are given it, every single time. There are three or four countries where people seem to be able to just do whatever they want, and then they assume that nobody else has any problems lmao

If this shit is illegal where you are from why the fuck are you risking jail time in the first damn place is all i gotta say. Besides the crying isnt about dodging the FBI or whatever local alphabet soup law enforcement group is in the country its about crying that there is a checkbox to click through and a login for an account practically everyone already has. Besides simply browsing content like this isnt going to automatically trigger the death squads like the overly paranoid will lead you to believe. Practically every case that has come out from 2D or fictional depictions has ALWAYS been started because someone got some ink and paper products seized or was doing some absolutely silly shit like browsing it from the public library ON one of their computers. Or you know actually assaulting people.

Besides the disclaimer on the very first screen on boot states " This work of fiction contains content of a sexual nature and is inappropriate for minors. All characters depicted are at least 18 years of age. Everything is consensual role play, and any animals are actually people in costumes. " It might sound like that is just a bunch of bullshit and in some ways it is but the game is built up with that in mind and is fiction that is in no way based in reality so anyone building a case *solely* on this game is looking at an extremely hard fought legal fight in practically any court on the planet. If you can buy a copy of Lolita at a bookstore and not get arrested you can play this game. Dolores is as much of a victim as the PC in this game and most people can walk down the street to their local bookstore and pick up a copy of that book directly off the shelf. Not to mention you know actual porn.

I kind of tired how everyone is parading around like this game is some kind of super illegal radioactive Geo-locating homing device for the feds or whatever.

A certain part of the community dealt a huge blow to the game's development by incessantly demanding pregnancy. Vrelnir didn't want to do it, the polls showed that only a minority of the community wanted it, and it doesn't fit well with the themes and other mechanics of the game, but a vocal minority's constant whining forced the dev's hand, and now the majority of the dev time for over a year -- and a big chunk of it for the forseeable future -- is devoted to this kink.

As someone who actually skimmed through the poll results I can say for sure that it was not a minority. If it was it probably wouldn't have been a feature implemented anytime soon. Also Vrel even stated it was a popular choice... So much for a "vocal minority"

Because pregnancy is an under-exploited niche doesn't mean dev should compromise their game's design to satisfy a demand that wasn't the target audience. I like DoL but I feel like it shouldn't over expand on too much kinks and focus more depth, otherwise you end up with stuff like CoC/TiTs.

The anti pregnancy brigade have always been pretty delusional though. Most of the people when they heard that was what the next patch was gonna be were just "Oh that seems interesting shame its gonna take so long though" or "Not my thing but it might be fun to fool around with." Then you had the absolute tsunami of tears from the people that HATE it as a concept and spent the entire time between patches posting about how the game is dead and how horrible the devs are for prioritizing content nobody ever asked for or wanted. Despite as you said it being one of if not the most popular mechanics to be discussed. Its just another case of people getting super butthurt that the game made by other people arent directly catering to their and ONLY their fetishes.

Also if you want depth to a game sometimes the best way to do that is to expand sideways and not vertically. You could have the most in depth hardcore school simulator ever where each class has tens of thousands of lines and mechanics in this game but if you never expand on anything outside of that its a pretty damn shallow game overall. Sometimes depth is more about how different mechanics happen and interact and less about having 1000 iterations of the same thing like some people seem to want.

Also also as has already been pointed out it wasnt niche. It was heavily requested.

Dol+ is much more like a QoL mod, the most notable features are the extended combat and amc (Anime Main Character), which extends the stats cap.

A lot of people will attempt to rape you, but it's never mandatory (beside some unfortunate chain of events leading you to a state where you can't do anything about it, but that's up to stat management). Even when not completely escaping the assailants, redirecting them from body parts you wanna keep untouched is part of the game.
There are also of course consensual scenes.

You can adjust the rent payments downwards - you aren't going to get achievements during the run but OTOH I feel the benefits for starting a NG+ round aren't so incredible as to really merit the amount of play time you'd generally spend getting Vrelcoins anyway.

Yes, keeping your virginities (handholding, kissing, oral, anal, vaginal, penile) is kind of a big part of the game. Well, I guess it's as big a part of the game as you'd like it - if you don't care, then you can lose them immediately and that's fine too. It can be a little difficult at first though, as your character starts out unskilled and running into encounters with multiple assailants (or even a single physically powerful assailant) before you're skilled enough to either fight them off or redirect them can end in disaster. And there are certain places (e.g. on the streets in broad daylight, in school) where using the scream action can get you rescued from encounters as well, and there's also using pepper spray (which you don't have much at first but can get more of later) as a "break glass in case of emergency" kind of last resort. You definitely have options, and playing smartly will highly increase the chance that you'll become skilled enough to be able to play the game more on your own terms - and as a bonus, your character won't lose their mind or end up in the insane asylum in the process, which are likely to happen if you just let your character get repeatedly raped.

By the time you max out your physique and sexual skills, pretty much nobody's going to be able to do anything to you if you don't want them to outside of maybe the most extreme encounters in the game (most of which you'd really have to go looking for). In fact, I find that particular fact to make the game a little bit boring, so I modded the game so that my sexual skills max out at a C grade instead, to help keep the world a bit more dangerous, but that's just me.
