Yes, keeping your virginities (handholding, kissing, oral, anal, vaginal, penile) is kind of a big part of the game. Well, I guess it's as big a part of the game as you'd like it - if you don't care, then you can lose them immediately and that's fine too. It can be a little difficult at first though, as your character starts out unskilled and running into encounters with multiple assailants (or even a single physically powerful assailant) before you're skilled enough to either fight them off or redirect them can end in disaster. And there are certain places (e.g. on the streets in broad daylight, in school) where using the scream action can get you rescued from encounters as well, and there's also using pepper spray (which you don't have much at first but can get more of later) as a "break glass in case of emergency" kind of last resort. You definitely have options, and playing smartly will highly increase the chance that you'll become skilled enough to be able to play the game more on your own terms - and as a bonus, your character won't lose their mind or end up in the insane asylum in the process, which are likely to happen if you just let your character get repeatedly raped.
By the time you max out your physique and sexual skills, pretty much nobody's going to be able to do anything to you if you don't want them to outside of maybe the most extreme encounters in the game (most of which you'd really have to go looking for). In fact, I find that particular fact to make the game a little bit boring, so I modded the game so that my sexual skills max out at a C grade instead, to help keep the world a bit more dangerous, but that's just me.
