It is pretty wild that the discussion is about "typical female situations" and totally ignores the fact that men and boys are subject to sexual assault and abuse as well. I mean we are on a forum thread dedicated to a game that is explicitly about sexual assault but to just say that it doesnt happen to males is just so absolutely sexist and arguably downright evil. The content of the game is just fantasy so it is whatever but when you start to evoke reality in some perverse argument as to why the game is doing something you dont like and just invalidate the experiences of actual victims to do that well you can just fuck right off.

The argument that "assault doesnt happen to boys in real life so having them be assaulted ingame is dumb" is just such a slimy argument it doesnt bear interacting with. Of course this is just the delusional weekly post from someone that cant even read the op of the thread or the basic premise of the game so they make shit up to be mad about. As was already pointed out "Degrees of Lewdity is a game where the player character is always in a unfortunate situation, they will never be able to be the aggressor."

Female staff in US male juvenile prisons rape the minor prisoners in such a high rate that over all US male prisons (minor and adult) around 60% of all rape victims have been raped by a female staff member.

A German study about their army a couple of years ago revealed that ~50% of female rape victims and ~30% of male rape victims were abused by a female soldier, meaning (as the total numbers of male and female victims were roughly the same) female soldiers committed about 40% of all rapes... even though at that time only a little over 10% of all German soldiers were female.

A UK study revealed that 50% of underage homeless boys in London / UK (can't remember which one) have been sexually assaulted by a woman.
So a boy in a precarious situation such as in the game getting assaulted isn't too far from reality; though obviously the assaults wouldn't be as violent and public as depicted in the game.

To give a little benefit of the doubt, I think the argument is that in game a male pc is approached and molested in the same ways a female pc would be, which is actually true, the male pc is kinda 'tacked on' onto the game.
Not saying the post was clear of assumptions about real world though.

What is there to give the benefit of the doubt for? Ingame you are grabbed and restrained and things are done against your will. Every action aside from genitals is the exact same and there is nothing to differentiate between sexes and there really isnt a need for there to be anything different. Its less "tacked on" and more just the systems being the same because it would be silly to do something different. If being male is "tacked on" then having a dress instead of pants is tacked on because it looks different. Its just a toggle for a single action based on body type in the same way clothes change their sprites.

The only way you can argue that its not just some kind of lazy cut and paste job is if your goal is to say that the entire gameplay system needs to change if you are male and thats just stupid.

This might be dumb but the side characters' weird reactions to seeing post rape MC turn me off with how unrealistic they are. Like at the office building you get down the stairs covered in cum and totally naked and the receptionist is just like "tssk tssk I expect better of you." weird and jarring, just takes me out of it.

Depends entirely on how you want them to be represented in the sex animations. Are you asking for the 'shadows' to be totally dynamic like your character, in that it reads the physical characteristics of each NPC involved, and then draw them (e.g. male/female, hair length, hair style, breast size (if applicable), eye colour, what they are wearing and state of undress, etc.)? Or are you simply asking for the good old anime-styled generic 'faceless (wo)men' thing? Because there are two main problems with this, the first being shared between generic NPCs and Love Interests (LI), and the second being from the LIs themselves.

The first problem is the classic problem: you need not only coding support to be present, but someone to actually do the drawings for each 'shadow' involved. I think at this time, the most 'shadows' you can see is maybe 3 (PC in doggy style while in a foursome with one NPC 'in front', one below and one above), or maybe 4 if it also accounts for someone 'behind' (the max number of penetrations for female PC is I think 6; double blowjob, double vaginal and double anal at the same time). Should they have the same level of 'detail' as the PC? Or should only LIs have it, while non-LIs all be drawn with generic shirt/pants/skirt but otherwise all look the same?

And then we have the second problem: what the LIs actually look like. Now, this is the most important part because Vrelnir himself have said multiple times that how the LIs actually look, other than the in-game descriptions provided, is otherwise deliberately left vague so that the player themselves can interpretate how they look themselves. Once you start drawing them in sex animations, even if simply drawing their outfit on a visible non-shadow body, it starts becoming 'officially, this is how (LI) is supposed to look like'. Using female Whitney in school uniform as an example - does she only wear the bare minimum required (top and bottom with School trait), or does she actually wear the School trait socks and shoes as well (and if so, does she wear the 'default' ones or the loose socks/mary janes)? Does she have her top untucked to her skirt, or does she actually have it tucked in? Which School top does she wear, and if it's one of the other ones than the School Blouse the PC starts with, does she have a few buttons unbuttoned, and/or have her sleeves rolled up and/or have the cardigan tied around her waist? A lot of these details can be shown in some way in the sex animations, so as mentioned, once you start, you start telling people how their husbando(s)/waifu(s) doesn't actually match what they thought they looked like.

On that note though in recent memory, there's only been two attempts at different sex animations 'artwork' - Mysterious (mostly centered around the PC, and feels like mostly made for females with flat-small breasts) and Hikari Female (also mostly centered around the PC). I actually liked the Hikari Female combat animation style but they broke with the 0.5.3.x update and Hikari themselves had disappared from the modding scene for some time by then. DoLP and the community is otherwise kind of maintaining what works from it similar to how BEEESSS was being propped up for months by community packs as well; otherwise someone would have to wrangle with Hikari Female combat animation coding to make it work again.

Those kinds of statements arent rare even in the US though. The only real difference is most places in the US wont say that as an official policy and instead do it under their breath and in private or at least less than public spaces. Though as we drift further and further into the alt right hellscape we are sliding into i expect people to just start blasting it in public again even more.
