Darker than what? Darker than all that demonic death and destruction that was the story of Deliverance? I just want MC to have a good time watching his wife give her boss a rimjob. You know, light afternoon fun.
That's the shit scene which completely changed my idea about sharing kink and the Katherine as a character. She called in my eyes. Upto that scenes, I enjoyed her sharing scenes very well but the scence is boss especially her eating boss' ass and getting orgasm by other man than husband.. It's like a big Boundary crossed that day. I know those options in that scene are optional but still it seems way too strange for the strong character like kat.

Not only me, but some other "light sharing" fans also upset by that controversial scene. But hardcore NTR fans enjoyed it. They don't care about logics or story or characterisation as long as their kink is fulfilled. Dev realized that the scene is a bit above the line. But it's too late. Anyway, I'm glad the new game has no ntr although it earns may be less than this game.

I'm usually the one being pointed at for laying red lines, but gone through that scene multiple times and it doesn't strike me that bad at all. Instead, what I see is a famous womanizer giving his all to Kat, as she herself incited him to, and in the end Kat is the one who leaves him begging for more. That's the entire Kat magic to me - she's not seeking better sex or men that dominate her better than the MC; instead, both her and the MC really enjoy the effect she has on guys and how she can play with them, use them and leave them whenever she likes. That's spot-on for me where sharing is concerned, as I don't enjoy MC cuckoldry. This game makes a successful effort to push the boundaries of acceptance but without touching the couple's harmony and assertiveness. Both Kat and the MC are consistent throughout the entire game, there's a progression in how kinky their adventures get, but never a break of character. MC never jerks off to his wife fucking other guys, he only cums in, or on her (or other girls, if you choose to). There isn't one bit of beta in him, and not an ounce of cheating in Kat, unless you fuck around too much - and then you're no longer on the sharing path and deserve it.

As I mentioned, the boss scene feels more to me like Kat feeding him so much both her sex appeal and her response to his, that in the end the boss believed he had her, but still she shows him she's the one who's got him wrapped around her little finger. He begs her to see him again, she says maybe. This is brilliant, nuanced writing that 99% of both authors and readers/players don't get (I don't want to brag, but do want to make a point). It's great that it elicits strong reaction from the player, but the underlying note is one of "reverse-cuckoldry", she uses men not as "bulls" but as toys, for her and her husband's thrill, and then shows them they have no sway on her. They are the cucks. This seems to be original to this game and I wish it weren't so. I'm waiting, hoping other authors take this up, or someone who knows other games that tap into the same theme would read this and point me there.

But still, that rimjob scene is not at all her character. She never done rimjob to her husband as far as we know (may be she did but as players we have to know that thing otherwise it incit negative feelings in player), but went on to give rimjob to the boss. In fact boss forced her to pull towards his ass and made her to ear his. That kind of behavior we never seen from MC. It's unfair.

I agree, they pushed it and not just there - and yet, at the end of the day, there's no doubt that Kat owns her former boss, not the other way around. There are other scenes where you might react similarly, such as when Kat first allows some guy to fuck her with no condom, because she and the MC improvised and the other guy didn't have one. Or when she lets the First Hunter cum in her pussy - first time with another guy, and the MC can even join for sloppy seconds (you can choose not to, but then you lose a nice closing of that scene where the they show the FH how to properly fuck his goddess). The author pushes the boundary on details, but keeps the essential intact. If the couple's dynamic is exactly like Deliverance makes it, almost anything goes in my book. What I don't like is when the motives behind each are egoistic and what's supposed to be a couple's kink becomes each one going solo with others. None of that here, their connection and chemistry remain unbroken and unchanged.

That’s because the story was originally written without the sharing. It was only added as a side route to titillate the audience in the hope of increasing subs. That’s why the couple dynamic remained the same throughout the VN. Only the MC was supposed to cheat. But it became a subject of controversy and the earlier poster through continued haranguing and harassment of the dev pushed him not only to go vanilla but made him lose all interest in his ‘own personal creativity’ and creation. Also why we never got to see the Sondheim Katherine encounter and the scene with Fowler was limited to nudity and some ‘spitting’ stories IYKWIM. After Ch 12 all he wanted to do was finish Deliverance and move on without the stigma. Which he hasn’t been able to do because his fanbase keep harkening back to Deliverance and because his current output is a fuckfest with a sci-fi story wrapped around it. His subs remain unchanged. Because of all the hoohah created by a minority of players, amongst other reasons, there is now almost zero chance of a Deliverance 2. As consumers of VNs we should help the devs develop their ideas not impose our own. If it’s no longer to one’s taste, move on or create your own.

That's really unfortunate, and thanks for the info, I got here only a few months ago. Still think the sharing is not "glued" onto the story as if it had nothing to do with it. However he got there, imho the author created a coherent scenario of a couple who are genuinely in love and satisfied with each other and explore their kink together. What's key to me is that they do it together - most other games exploit asymmetry instead, like a pre-existing masochistic fetish, creating a power dynamic where the MC is submissive. I'm not criticising this, just stating that it's the most common route and the author here avoided it and gave us something else, instead, less commonplace and more interesting. I really enjoyed what they came up with. Whether it is or it isn't, the way the sharing episodes unfold into the Kat monogamous ending doesn't feel like a quick wrap-up of an author on the brink of burnout. I'm particularly glad they resisted the pressure to force the sharing route to have a humiliating or defeat-like outcome.

He wasn't burnt out, he just wanted to move on from all the toxicity he received from some, especially the earlier poster, on f95zone who then chased him again on Patreon and Discord with his venom. It is what it is. All the endings fit perfectly because the sharing scenes were written to fit around the story but not have a direct impact on the base story. Note how the post 'Boss' scenes were more vanilla, with known previous lovers, and feel less integrated to the mainline story. The only divergence being the last sharing scene with Stan, dev's final Hurrah!, or as I see it, the finger to all his detractors.
