Working on a revised guide, what does everyone need to know? I might not get everything though. I'm insanely busy and lazy.
I think most people get lost on directions a lot in the game (given how bad the map is).Working on a revised guide, what does everyone need to know? I might not get everything though. I'm insanely busy and lazy.
Its hard to say what could have happened. I also direct the attitude comment at the leaches and don't support and use a demanding tone towards the dev. Its not everyone, but a vocal sum of people. To be fair, that's kinda a win for "us", no? As in if dev kept an eye over what's going on here it would probably become the same bullshit cycle of cracking and next version implementing new auth methods over and over, as it happens with Vanimate. Not only is that bad because a lot of people get mad (and talk badly about your project), as it's also a ton of time wasted by the dev on something not really contributing meaningfully to the game at all.
Supporting games with potential (like Delta Zone, albeit slow as fuck...) is the "good" outcome, but not everyone can. Plus I do think more people being able to test/play the game end up being good "marketing", thus generating more support if the product is actually good/enjoyed? Could be wrong though, I don't have statistics to back me up, plus I'm a idiot.
You might want to hold up and not waste time. A new version is due out soon and its going to make some fundamental changes to play. There might be a transport system coming in and with cyberware that is going to affect every aspect of combat.Working on a revised guide, what does everyone need to know? IIRC the mood here towards and from the dev shifted once the delay of the free version got longer and longer. Going from one month to longer and longer until the game got cracked and then it didn't take long until the free versions got cancelled and the dev left the forum. Its hard to say what could have happened. I also direct the attitude comment at the leaches and don't support and use a demanding tone towards the dev. Its not everyone, but a vocal sum of people.
One thing Devo did though up till when he decided to leave this site was provide the last version for free while supporters got access to the current version. Usually when that formula runs on this site, the current version doesn't get leaked. This strikes what I think is a healthy balance from pirates to involved devs. Its pretty uncommon for the current versions to be leaked out of respect for these devs that support piracy.
I've voiced my concerns with Devo about this take of cutting off F95 and how it'll unfairly affect supporters and just cause people to crack the current version, but he's stuck on the vocal few asshats. I know he could be doing better numbers and have more people happy with the path of progression. But he ridged. I can't blame him, this site has a problem with entitlement that is toxic as fuck and he has a very specific view of what he wants in the game. Even supporters suggestions are usually shot down.
I can't blame the dev either. It's completely rational to say "fuck you all" to a place filled with assholes like me who speak before pondering if it's worth/constructive first. But the thing is: there usually is some valid points in those toxic/entitled posts, not all, but some.I can't blame him, this site has a problem with entitlement that is toxic as fuck and he has a very specific view of what he wants in the game. And to be fair, if we were creating anything without any actual mean of having money to, making it for free wouldn't be a option for sure. But I do believe such games, with huge potential but still early on polishing, should be put through as many people as possible before commiting to something. And with current world economics, most people sadly do not have spare money to throw freely at their hobbies/entertainment.But I had the feeling that the dev even then did not really see having a free version for promotion as big as an advantage as I would assume. And I'm pretty sure that everyone active on this site at the time knew that the game would be cracked once there was a large enough incentive.
I will most likely make it an R21 guide since I take so long to do anything, as well as the fact that I haven't fully grasped R20 yet. I'm just polling to see what I need to show people. You might want to hold up and not waste time. A new version is due out soon and its going to make some fundamental changes to play. Actually they released a version 2-3 releases behind the current release. Its why people ended up cracking it. If devo had released say version 17, when version 18 came out, then people wouldn't have had as much issue with the system. But it was usually something like version 15, maybe 16, when version 18 came out, so people got impatient. Its hard to say what could have happened. Not really. The right way would have been to release the game as it was, and just disable save/load. Its what a lot of games do. They hook you with the overall loop, and then you have to pay to save/load. I often see that with demos of games, on steam, where you can play it as much as you want in a single session, but once you exit the game, you have to start over from scratch. And as this game is very much one you want to save/load on, it could work.I can't blame the dev either. It's completely rational to say "fuck you all" to a place filled with assholes like me who speak before pondering if it's worth/constructive first. If many agree some point needs immediate attention (like the map, or optimization/crashes, for example), it should become priority of the project. The base view of the dev of what the final product will be sure should not be thrown away for the whims of suporters/players, but they can't be just a blind straight bruteforced path into that view. Because that's exactly how bad final release games and products come to life.

It's a conundrum, a dilemma, there isn't really a right or wrong way. And that sucks for both dev and also the people who see on it a great potential.
The pre-cracked download, as the name say, is pre-cracked. Why did you apply another crack on top of the pre-cracked download?I can't get the crack to work. I downloaded the pre-cracked 20.2 version, then manually updated the main.lua from the crack post. I also tried downloading only the DeltaZone.zip from crack post and replacing all files. When I try to login it says "User ID Corrupted". It doesn't create a new UE4SS.log file or a DevolutionUserID-crack0.lic file either. Also the F10 console doesn't open for me. The game directory is "C:\DZ" so it's not because of non-latin characters either. Anyone else had this problem?

tbf, there rn 292 pages in this forum, and I wouldn't expect person who hasn't tried just to re-enter login to know what exactly to search for. Plus even if they would know, they still could see the old comments on how to crack, rather than just to re-enter the loginThe pre-cracked download, as the name say, is pre-cracked. Why did you apply another crack on top of the pre-cracked download?
It's just literally downloading, unpacking and playing. There's a warning saying if the login fails you just need to keep retrying until it works (it's a auth bug in the game, not crack apparently). There's literally a hotkey in the game to open the login prompt anytime in case that happens.
Stop re-applying old crack files on the already cracked game people! (not you AnotherLost , there's lots of previous posts of people commiting the same error, and then posts of people saying what I just said, i'm not being an asshole directly to you on this rant).
In other news: the cycle of people not reading previous posts or using the search function keeps going on... ok, now maybe I'm being an asshole...
So is the crack from kekpuker's crack post an outdated one? I reapplied it because I believed it was a bit newer than the pre-crack. Also I did try logging in multiple times and this didn't work at all. I believe it was because the crack doesn't create a new .lic file for me. I don't know if I didn't try enough times or something, but my main problem is that the crack doesn't... Idk launch? Inject? It does nothing when it's in my files doesn't matter if I launch the pure pre-cracked, pre-cracked with crack manually updated or pure game files with crack manually applied. It Doesn't create a log file, doesn't create a .lic file, doesn't enable an in-game console. It's not blocked by any antivirus software either and no files are getting deleted by defender. I was searching for a solution in this thread for a good hour, but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem. The pre-cracked download, as the name say, is pre-cracked. No, kekpuker's script is the latest crack, it's a script using UESS to bypass the auth. That's why there's a "mod" folder in the game now. Previously it relied on using the license files, which if I'm not wrong is not needed anymore with the script. So is the crack from kekpuker's crack post an outdated one? EDIT: Nvm today it just worked normally I guess I didn't try restarting my computer yesterday lmao I wanna die
I don't know if that's what you mean but the login hotkey is L. Also the black screen will pass after some time depending on your PC specs. Is the ingame hotkey written down somewhere? I searched the thread and feel like I'm missing something really obvious. All I can see is a black screen so it's not like I can check the key bindings.
It's a known bug on the latest version, related to Garbage Collection on the engine. Search the thread for fixes, there were a few tips and possible ways to workaround it.I've been playing for a few days now and have explored most or all of Highway. I've tried about 10 times to load into City Outskirts but I get some kind of 120 second error every time and the game force closes. Is there something I need to do before I can go there or what?
I've had that patch that adds the automatic garbage collection (and also with the manual F9 GC) since starting, not sure if there's anything else I'm missingIt's a known bug on the latest version, related to Garbage Collection on the engine. If you're not crashing on any other area than the City, then that's it. The City is bugged in this version. And if it wasn't, there isn't anything really worth going there anyway (as every single other map to be honest...).I've had that patch that adds the automatic garbage collection (and also with the manual F9 GC) since starting, not sure if there's anything else I'm missing
