you either pay to support the development or you don't. you can always wait for the full release and pay once
What a way to reward the people that literaly fund your fucking development, without which you'd need to essentially work two jobs.
You do realise you give people 0 incentive to help you develop this...right?
  1. Abandon the idea of a "game", embrace the idea of "sandbox gallery". Not trolling, think about it; pick up where Fallen Doll stopped. A porn game will not be remembered for being fun, it is the content what makes a difference, no gameplay needed.
  2. Less psychedelic backgrounds, more meatty, slimy, dark tentacle dens.
I agree
Except that most pornographic games take the depth to an extreme, and then the player has to go to huge amounts of effort to get the sex. Is it any wonder why these hugely depth games have gallery modes or cheats to bypass the content or someone creates a hack that gives you an auto-win option in all the minigames?

There needs to be some level of balance here. The only game I can think of that really comes close to that balance is Corruption of Champions. There is story, there is choices to be made, but the sex is readily available and the consequences of it usually isn't so terrible that it severely impacts your ability to keep playing. Pity it has way too much furry content in it, and the only way for the player to get sex, is to rape their opponents, but its the closest to the ideal of having good gameplay and readily available sex.

Most open world sex games have tedious minigames, tons of fetch and explore quests, irritating dialogue that cannot be skipped quickly and way too many steps to reach the sexual content.

For example, in this game can you:

A) Masturbate at any time that you want?
B) Take showers whenever you want?
C) Do a sex scene more than once? So the tentacles scene, can it be repeated?

If you answered No to more than one question, then the sex is too restrictive and that is why people are asking for a gallery mode. So if they want to play the game, they can play the game. But if they want a quick fap, and it isn't available, then they might have to go do something else for that.
you know it's really funny to me when people demand story and story and gameplay and whatever and when they get it they're like 'where 100% unlocked gallery save'

Actually, our old fans asked for $200 tier on patreon so they could support us more.
Anyone can buy the latest vanilla version of the game for $2.64 on itch right now, or for $4 after sale, or even play the free censored version before buying, that simple. Everything else is little bonuses, which doesn't change much in the game. Most people understand it because only 1 person that donated asked for a refund for these reasons, and we approved it.

I do Not understand why people are Complaining about the amount people donate towards a game that's Not fully released
I pledged Many times to Developers on a game that I wanted to play or Experience for myself.

Now, if others do Not want to donate then that is fine with me; But complaining is Not going to help anyone except your personnel gratification, it is non-productive towards any development for any game

I think more people need to consider using constructive criticism in the future, that way the Developers can learn what is wrong as well understand your views towards the game future :coffee:

So let me get this straight. The pricing for the game, isn't a one-off fee, but is a monthly fee?

Who in their right mind would pay 190 USD a month, for an entire year? Even the super-enthuisatic Star Citizen money whales, aren't even paying that amount for their Star Citizen content... and this game is only at V0.1 ... what the literal shit?

And, then going down the list:
$4USD doesn't even get the latest build. So once the $9+ get V0.2 they are still at V0.1.

$9USD doesn't get a steam key... which more than likely, the steam key won't have the same pornographic content anyway. But, paying 9 USD a month, by year end they've spent more money on the game, than they'd pay for a AAA COD title on day one.

$37USD you get cheat codes which is quite excessive a price for cheat codes. Fuck, man, I whinged about paying $10 for cheat codes back in the 90s when we didn't have the internet, on top of the price of the game for $25, so I still paid less for all that, and that is a one-time fee. And most of the cheats is for body customization in this game, so usually a feature that is free, you have to pay a ton extra for.

$95USD you get a special store to have cool addons like sex toys, new positions, special clothing, and I mean, wow that is expensive. Even buying 5 cosmetic packs from a Street Fighter / Tekken online pack, is cheaper.

And the biggest kicker is that if you don't spend that fee each month, you lose access to all the benefits of that tier. So even if you buy $190 for one month, next month if you cancel, you are reduced to the free category. It also means then if you had body customized her, she'd either crash the game the moment you tried to load a save with her, or she'd get reset to default values.

And you wonder why people pirate the shit out of in progress games?

=====

I get that you need to pay the bills to keep things flowing, but you need to remember that people get pretty pissed off with predatory marketing practices. The game Evolved had like 20 day one dlc on top of the base price of 59.99 USD and people hated that. And comparatively, your monetary scheme is even more predatory. I want to see this game succeed, but the only way I'd pay those prices, is if I bought the tier once, and didn't have to pay it again. So, if I paid $190 USD for it (which is comparable to buying a collector's edition of a AAA game in price), then I'd expect to have access to everything at that tier, for life.
Even a full F2P game such as Warframe gives you all updates, you get all of the new graphical features, bug fixes and even added free content, you can grind and get all payed stuff without any sort of blockage (it takes times, but nothing forbids you from spending entire nights playing for hours). Or you can buy some in-game currency and get there faster, which also makes sense if you like the game too much and feel that by helping the developer, you get some new and fancy, cool items for your character, it's a win-win situation. And if you don't decide to pay for anything, you are on your own, but you still can play the game all you want with full support.

What these people are doing is no different from getting any game from a torrent; no support, no updates, no new content and still you have to pay. Say I paid $95, I'd be stuck with this absolutely broken version of the game with no save support, extremely unoptimized and confusing to play with terrible controls. Hard to believe their marketing practices are THIS bad, but does look that way. Not to mention no top tier AAA game with all DLC reaches this schizophrenic price. This is just absolute fucking insanity.

That's not the problem or even if the free version is censored, the problem is how you promise no game updates to even those that are willing to pay an insane amount of money for a top tier membership for a game that has barely any development. So they will be stuck with that version and have to keep paying extra money for newer versions? Basically pay for game patches, improvements, fixes or optimizations. Imagine if Fromsoft did this with Elden Ring, where the first versions of the game were completely broken with endless freezing and stutter and then you must pay for THEIR in-game mistakes. This is predatory marketing practices taken to 11. Not even Ubisoft could do this.

Well, those asking for 100% saves are probably not the same people as those wanting stories or gameplay. And I don't really understand it. If someone is after quick fap, and that's perfectly fine, why do they even bother with games, where they can expect all the useless stuff that's not sex and only gets in the way? Isn't it better to choose porn and jump right to action?

You compare us, 4 people living in one small flat to AAA studios? We had like ~$14k and 1.5 years for development, without any other even part-time jobs, and you name studios with multi-million budgets

if you pay $20 you get the Steam key, and play the game with all features implemented, after we launch it there

Yeah, I get you are indie devs, but not allowing people to get game updates and fixes is just mindblowing to me. But you do you guys, whatever. I am not crazy enough myself to donate to something and then I get told straight up "hey bud, no support, so yeah, you are on your own".

its tricky to find a development model that supports both the dev and the patrons. My biggest gripe about these subscription services is that they reward on a periodic basis -which leads to postponements to maximize funding- rather than milestone.

For you it's "When", for supporters it's "IF" you launch it, "IF" the product is fully realized at the end etc.

halo10 you're just pointing out the risks of supporting any indie dev while their game is still in progress. Even Steam has "Early access" which is essentially buying a game before it's finished and if it never gets you've ended up buying a demo for full price. You don't have to agree with their payment plan and just wait till there's more content or it's finished. But keep in mind that AAA game studios have not only a 100 times bigger budget but also 100 times more people. And it still takes them years to finish a game. More if it's from scratch. I subscribed and if I'm not happy with the updates I will stop. But for now at least I think my risk is justified. We'll see and I'll let you know.

Except... you don't get any updates if you support on Itch... It literally says what you pay on Itch is only for ONE version. I get needing a cashflow for dev support, but when you literally screw over your donators like that, its incredibly shtty and shows their attitude towards the game and their supporters. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just ran with the money like Fallen Doll.

Oh yea, even AFTER donating monthly, if you don't have at least the Steam key tier, then you won't even have access to the final release too. Say someone can only spare $4 per month to support the game and it takes 3 years to finally release. Thats $144. After that much money, you will still need to pay for the final release. However, if someone were to join the $20 Steam donation tier they'll get the Steam Key which gives access to the full release. After which they can cancel their subscription and would still get the full release after the 3 years.

Its extremely shtty, everyone, regardless of donation tier should get access to the full game on release. Or they could make a "milestone system" where if you meet a certain threshold of donations ($20) then you'll get the Steam Key.

Like I get they're an indie team, but screwing over your donators like that is actively hurting their future prospects.

EDIT: Oh yea, and the fact that they want enough funding to support a team of 4 right from the get-go is incredibly alarming. Its showing unrealistic optimism. A realistic approach would be to ya know, get actual jobs until you get enough funding per month to support gave dev full time. Like every other indie dev does. It makes me feel that after the team realises how hard the project is they'll just dip which is pretty common in NSFW game dev.

Which is better because you don't pay every month and not receive an update. So if normally you would pay 5$ a month and get an update on the 3rd month you'd have payed 15$, but this way you know there's an update and pay only the 5$ for it. Unless they make the patreon payments per update and not per month, this seems like a somewhat good deal. No small fixes and patches being the downside. But if it's something game breaking and they don't fix it for the version you payed for you could ask for a refund.

anyone have the slightest clue how I'm supposed to tell this game to run on my dedicated GPU instead of Vega 8?...
I set the executable and the entire game folder to run on my 1650 but the game still runs like shit and says vega 8 in the settings menu, and if none of you know, I may as well uninstall, because I've spent like an hour seeing only around 2 scenes and running around like a moron having no clue wtf I'm supposed to do because the quests are as ambiguous as they were in the PS2 era
