You are right. Usually engine is less than 10% of a car. Unless you're thinking of the entire engine bay, but that'd be stupid.

It'd be weird, if it didn't have more content than most of the in-progress games on this site, considering it's one of the oldest games here. Didn't stop him from, for example, replacing Centaur images for the sake of replacing them and some 3 years later there's still less variations than they were before the change, so in certain aspects the game is outright de-developing.

The art in PoP is gorgeous, but I never liked the gameplay. I tried this one and damn, as far as prototypes go, I can see myself enjoying what this game could eventually become. I hope the dev keeps at it.

Another tedious, time management focused, RNG heavy roguelike that severely underpowers the player from this dev.

I really like his art but the gameplay is just... I don't want to dump 5-10 hours into a failed run of a roguelike H-game. Breakthroughs are bullshit to eat the already too limited amount of time you have. There's no reason quests should eat time to turn in or force you to spend the night with a specific teacher other than, yet again, bullshit to eat away at your time.

Luckily I found a bug that lets me get all the things he's so desperate to keep you from having without spending time phases.

The seductress class seems to be unplayable, you get rocked by everyone after the tutorial fight because you're so disadvantaged mechanically from the start. Best I can come up with is to focus on building dex early and save-scum your way into getting a heavy cloak ( counter-productive I know, but -to beauty and dex in exchange for the cloak soaking damage is an easy choice ) and full helm from the random shop in the city date location in the first couple of days. Haven't figured out how to reliably train the mental stat, looks like it'd be really damned useful to have but it seems like he wants to lock it behind RNG.

You realize revisions are part of game development, right?
Syv is still updating frequently, the largest issue is closing out feature bloat and making the game more accessible to players.
The main storylines are done, there are tertiary secret storylines, there are over 200 playable PC's, a working breeding and gene system, crafting, hundreds of events, more art than you can shake a stick at, the towns basically complete and then some, like what is it you're wanting? Syv didn't stop doing PoP to do Demon Dome, and creatives need an outlet, they're doing just fine on content, like what about Portals makes you think they're dumping it unfinished?

So, in my opinion this game has a less fucked up gameplay compared to Portals of Phereon. This can be easily proven by the fact that I managed to finish the game without too much hassle.
But it is still terrible. Words cannot describe how retarded and nonsensical the gameplay and combat are in this dude's games.

There are only 3 playable PCs, the rest are repurposed enemy/NPC sprites with MAYBE a unique passive and no story of their own.
And no, I don't see how revisioning something that was already 90% done into something worse and 90% not done is an improvement or an understandable part of the game development.
Sure, there's hundreds of characters, each one with art, but you know what? I'd rather have 50 characters with art that is DONE instead.
And the dev updates so frequently I basically had no reason to play this game again since (let me check the date on the folder) 2020.

I'm clearly in the minority. I loved PoP, and I'm not really into futas. I liked it despite the heavy focus. I like when things are complicated, and have hours of unlocks. I like most art that isn't commonly used AI or 3D stuff you see everywhere.

Look, this isn't the thread to discuss this really, so i'm gonna just ask this once, do you think a single dev should be expected to develop 278 individual unique story lines, with unique events for each, with new art for each individual multiple times, do you think that's reasonable? In the time frame given for the game? Really?
I think that's insane personally, and people wanted more events, and the town system focused on, which has been the focus, i'm more than happy supporting them on Patreon, i consider them to be one of the few good devs which actually makes good unique games worth looking at.
Would i like there to be more unique storylines, yes, 100%, but that takes time, and there are larger issues for me like actually making the games systems fully functional and completed, and that's the focus.
Demon Dome is a side project, those are Syv's own words.
