Oh Portal of Phereon. That was such a callback to me and while I do enjoy the breeding management gameplay (and I still question is it literally drawn by PWCSponson despite the portrayed fetishes never go nearly as extreme as the artist typically do), it also feels like it missed the point of porn game being a vehicle for erotica, on top of convoluted UI it seems the dev is continuing going into that direction and arguably worse in this game, regrettably, despite its exceptional production value.

It is rather strange to make cock presence so transient in a game (so far its just temporary transformation that lasted only a day despite most illustrations everyone having a cock) supposedly focused on futa and it is really annoying after recognised that fact, and as usual, due to the sandbox design, game and sexual moment never felt having much weight as they should due to more often than not, being a repetitive reused blurb at best, granted it is a "prototype" after all but it isn't looking great when it managed to make the king quest in PoE blushes for punishing you to explore the options than play along with the game which seems to track since in PoE, erotica and gameplay is very disconnected to the point theres basically no reason to engage with majority of the NPC side content since those typically required you to pivot away from its gameplay loop (provided that you somehow didn't missed it entirely), now it is even affecting the cock transformation itself which is disappointing.

Bro has been at PoP since 2017.
It'd be weird, if it didn't have more content than most of the in-progress games on this site, considering it's one of the oldest games here. Didn't stop him from, for example, replacing Centaur images for the sake of replacing them and some 3 years later there's still less variations than they were before the change, so in certain aspects the game is outright de-developing.
Of course, I should have considered one could simply carry the engine in their lap and sit in the driveway because fuck actually driving.

Point is, the game is not your jam, we get it, but staying here and belly aching while sharing clumsy analogies is not helping anyone.

A car without seats is not going to pass the inspection and won't be allowed on the road. Neither would a car without the bodywork.
If you have a problem understanding the analogy, that's entirely on you.

In my experience, this developer's games are more like airplanes. Meaning the controls are numerous and intimidating, and one can't expect to just sit at the cockpit and fly.

regardless of the ratios, to begin with the engine of a car compares more to the core loop/mechanics of a game. you're saying you need quality upholstery, windows, and good media system in a car to really think it's a game, which is a valid viewpoint but not one everyone will share, nor does it have anything to do with the engine.

for example, PoP's core loop doesn't do it for me personally, but that's an entirely separate issue from me not liking the lack of polish in art/sound/specific balance issues which IS a large part of the 10% that they're just not doing. you care about it, that's fine, that's what makes games into real masterpieces after all, just that plenty of people simply don't put that much immediate emphasis on it. (I've played dorf fortress without a skin/tileset, using the ascii default)

in any case your initial analogy is clumsy and your new one is still jank. you can't "crash" in a turn-based video game after all, to any appreciable degree, so there's nothing really comparable to a seat belt. realistically, you're complaining about the lack of suspension on a mountain bike, but you say you're complaining about the lack of brakes. nah.

I was a fan of PoP, but acknowledge that it's less "porn game" and more "porn GAME". And that's not everyone's bag--which is fine. I mean, my rule-of-thumb is that people are entitled to like what they like, as long as it doesn't hurt other people.

And if what gets you off is being hurtful, like making other people feel bad about their personal preferences, then maybe commission a game about being mean on the Internet while someone bangs your girlfriend and throws a bucket of jizz in your face or whatever? I think this is an excellent game, and way to try mechanics and ideas that aren't immediately compatible with Portals of Phereon (PoP). I would not be surprised if we see some of DemonDome (DD) carry over to PoP. As a lot of PoP is already part of DD. Syvaron is a solo dev that has made more art in 7 years than plenty of other nsfw artists, and a game on top of that which is complex and deep mechanically.

I hope they keep working on it, even if it is not as active as it could be- or that when they feel done that they release it openly for the community to carry on. Like we saw with Corruption of Champions Xianxia. It's a really cool format of a game that more content is "relatively" easy to add onto, the only difficulty here would be what to do with the art if Syvaron stops makingit.
