also hate that u can't fastforward or go back when in that thingy
pressed the wrong button one too many times had to listen to it again and again before finally stopping ma grubby hands from trying to find a fast forward button midway through

nope, it don't do nothing for hard mode, and half of it didn't even work on normal for some reason >.<
Okay, I think I see the problem. The cycles the walkthrough recommends do work, but sometimes you have to start in the middle. See what the heroine does, think about which move would make sense there, then rollback/reload your save and follow the cycle from there until the next phase.
Does anyone know of a similar game that was either inspired by this or was the original?
I rmb playing a really hot Japanese port of such a game in newgrounds back in 2017-2019.
