for those who are having difficulty:
-close the game
-open the file with notepad, modify it and save it
-close notepad
-open the game
if in doubt, change the numbers of all the addresses that are the same

I had the same problem initially, and the solution was to make the changes while the game is not running. You have to do it out of session.

Yup, I did it by buying a ton of potions. I thought I drank enough of them but when I loaded the save it turned out that I was literally 5 points short of magic winning. But thank you for giving me a moment of your time ^^
