So what's the progress been like on this game after three years of development? How much content is there? The concept seems interesting. Something different instead of all the recycled game themes we see all the time.

It's mostly the other way around..
the Temple is responsible for the education of children and for the breeding of children.
the novices of the temple go through a couple of decades of bearing children before they become full priestesses...if they make it.
those children go to one of the branches of power that run and defend the city.. OR they can be taken in by couples or individuals who can't bear children of their own and/or have room for educating an extra child into their craft or profession.
sure, children can also be entrusted to the Temple, maybe to escape slavery, but for Zetan citizens the other direction is more likely.
that said, nothing is set in stone in that respect. what I described is the norm, but there are (and/or can be) exceptions.

I honestly feel like this game is slowly starting to bury itself 6 feet deep. It's a shame really. I thought it had tons of potential in the beginning. These are just my opinions though, so take them with a grain of salt.

I would really appreciate if it was possible to rename Fairy after the choice is given the first time. I hoped it'd be something we'd be able to do this update, since on the last one we had just healed her (depending on our actions). I assumed that Fairy would be added to this list in this update.
I named mine Pepper, but completely forgot that there already was a character with that name in the game (the doctor at the mutant outpost).

I don't get it. That's it for this update? 3 new scenes? Damn I'm gonna be 40 when the game is completed. Or it's gonna change when the beta is done?

Beta means that the content is complete. What remains now is bug fixing and other polishing.

Are you all not pressing the refresh icon on the right side to continue to a different day or something? I have gone through multiple days including the Queen, the Raiders, Kateryna for 1 day, and I am still getting the ! icon for more when I refresh.

There's a major continuity bug where Kateryna is present while Fairy's being introduced to the family, despite not having joined the household herself yet.
