Happy New Year! To everyone, whether in advance or because it’s already arrived: we hope 2025 brings you joy, progress, and plenty of great moments!
Here’s a quick update: As of yesterday, translations for Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Italian have been fully updated and integrated, thanks to our hard-working community members. Additionally - though it wasn’t mentioned in the changelog - the animations for version 0.17 have been fixed. They should now work smoothly, artifact-free, and in HD.

So, what are our plans for 2025? The TL;DR is: More of the stuff you enjoy, and also I am looking for someone willing to work on renders together! But let’s break it down:
Ain will finally get her long-overdue, personal event. This time, the focus will be on her character arc rather than a side activity. You’ll be able to take her to the market, visit the auction, meet people, explore a possible future for her and delve more and more into her special ability: looking great.
As updates roll out, we’ll return to the roots with Shani and the MC going on a tomb raid to uncover more about the Elder's writings. The Queen will likely want to get involved in learning more about the origins of her own city; one way or another. On that note, her side quest will take a big step forward. The teasing can only go so far - it’s time to confront Sharifa about her actions and, at long last, win the Queen for ourselves.
Rabiah has had plenty of time to decide her next steps. When her story resumes, you can expect some changes in her household - changes that Nadia will absolutely enjoy.
Ivy is ready to share more about her past, the mutants, and possibly something even bigger that’s been hidden all this time.
Zion is close to figuring out how to shield her new gang from her old nemesis. Of course, she might need someone to...lend her a hand. But don’t expect Zion to soften up anytime soon. Her story will wrap up the second raider mission, meaning we’ll have completed two mutant and two raider missions. This will eventually lead to the next phase of the story, where your choices begin to play a larger role, but that’s further down the line.
Lastly, we want to add more repeatable visits and continue advancing Emilia’s small storyline, which will determine her position in the household.
____________
As you see, that's a shitload of ideas and plans. And while I am really eager to dive into rendering soon, the current workload is already taking up the biggest part of my days. As the quality of renders has improved over the years and the scenes have become more elaborate and entertaining, creating them all by myself has become increasingly time-consuming and stressful.
To fully realize the potential of DS and be able to explore more sidestories, I need a second person to collaborate with when it comes to renders, even if it's just the posing part. Many of you who have supported DS for a long time know that I’ve attempted this before and even announced it in the past, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out as planned.
So, in short:
I am looking for someone willing and interested in joining the team as a long-term addition.
And by long-term, I don’t mean for just half a year - I want to find someone to see Desert Stalker through to completion. If you know your way around DAZ and this sounds something you'd like to do, please send me a couple of renders - or even better, a small picture-by-picture scene that you would like to see in DS!

With that said, thank you for reading and for your continued support. Here’s to a productive and exciting year ahead. I’ll see you soon with the first dev logs!
