i didn't know Zetan said anything about this stuff that's number 1 , number 2 is the sharing that Zaton does with his wife and daughter Ain is pretty close to NTR, i know it's not NTR and i know the Plot does not call for Zaton losing any of his ladies. but you can understand why fans are seeing the signs right ? :p:whistle::coffee:
Yes, Zetan has mentioned in different devlogs that the sharing/swinging in Desert Stalker isn't going to transform into a netorare fest where the MC loses his wife and every other women.

The point #2... I don't get it at all. You're as confusing as KUMAR with his previous post about indian villages and traditions.

Dang, I'm replaying because of the broken saves for v.17, and I'm surprised how different the remade scenes are.

it's one thing to just improve render quality/lighting/angles, etc, but for example, saving the slave from the "bad owner" has completely changed to where you have to go out of your way to white knight to save a thief who attacked/mutilated random people as opposed to previously where an owner was clearly in the wrong and abusing his slave. It was also a nice world-building moment because it showed that slaves aren't meant to be treated like trash in Zetan society, and that Stalkers could operate by some code of ethics.

A change like that completely changes the characterization of the MC and possibly their relationship to the elf girl, I'm suprised. Am I alone in disliking the new version of the scene? It felt out of character to go out of my way to save her this time. Or am I jumping the gun and the change pays off in a better way later?

Similarly, in the older versions, you weren't forced to murder the decayed to save the raider and be guilt tripped (honestly that felt like it was meant to be funny with how OTT it was), is there a conscious effort to make the MC more of an asshole?

It also seems like the remade scenes have removed a lot of "flavor choices", for example, you don't get to explain to Shani why you want to save the Raider girl anymore, when you rape her you don't get a choice to praise or degrade her, afterwards there's no choice to explain to her why you saved her.

This escalated really quickly...

Zetan has repeated multiple times that the household women aren't going to leave Zaton if he decided to share them with a friend o anyone else. He isn't making a NTR visual novel where the MC loses his girls to other guys, like some of Igor's fans tend to fantasize about despite not being any hints about that. Even Igor respects his best friend so much that he wouldn't dare to do something to Zaton's wife, daughters or concubines if there's no contentment from both parties.
This seems fairly easy to understand, but still...

There's nothing difficult to understand about it. Sharing content will always be part of Desert Stalker, not as a main kink but still one that gets featured from time to time. If fans don't like it they can simply just disable it and continue without it.

However, that doesn't mean the women will start becoming like the female protagonist of The Adventurous Couple and cheat on Zaton behind his back, which is what some sharing/swinging fans seem to believe will happen (maybe they're just trolling, but who knows).

Thank you. I thought I was the only one when I posted the exact same thing when I replayed using the new version. I just couldn't understand the out of context changes that were made. Those two scenes were definitely, imo, so much worse than the original. Apparently the subscribers either didn't care that those scenes were so badly redone or aren't allowed to critique the devs work.

Well, no I just can speak up for myself, I found the rework good, yes the scenes changed, and not only the angles or the lighting, also some give more context, In the original version we don't know why Ivy wants us to help the girl so badly, now we know she Is a mutant, similar to Fang, the whole scene with the Raider Girls in their headquarters is much better, As well, when they get Kira from the Decayed.
and there was critic a lot, all out over the thread, on both on the original and on the reworked version and on Discord.
from the facts it seems that the mayority of the subscribers liked, and aprove the changes.

Maybe, let's say opinions were divided here (and I believe a lot of people are subscribers). When the controversy was at its peak in this thread, I think a lot of people just "accepted" the changes (at least that's my case), because the explanation given (after insisting a bit) was that patreon became a risky platform these last years, with increasing censorship, and that the devs didn't want to risk the game so they had to tone it down a bit. The beginning at least. Some people were still unhappy with those changes, but personally if the devs feel they had little choice, I can accept that, considering the game is fantastic. That being said, it's very different from approving the changes themselves. It depends which ones.

I was agreeing with you that this is easy to understand. Regardless of the kink being sharing or NTR, the fact that from the beginning it was always optional should make the debate non-existent. If you like it, it´s there, if you don´t, you can skip it.
