yeah they sure miss out on remade scenes, but thats up to them. to get them to restart at all is progress would say.
there is also 1 alternative to speed a bit, you can keep old persistent (only that) and with that you keep any relationships setup, gallery and can skip to only new scenes. that was my initial intention, but in the end have just replay whole game.

Playing DS for the first time in almost a year, and my saves are gone. That's fine, I get it, that happens, but can someone give me an idea how often the dev breaks the saves? If it is a regular thing I might want to wait a while before starting over, it's a great game but it's not small.....

I think its the first time in 4 years mate. He upgraded his ren'py build or something.

The game was updated from Ren'py 7 to Ren'py 8 (not sures about vers numbers) and apparently it wasn't feasable or convenient to keep the compatibility with the old saves' variables structure.

Now, it's not like they release a new version of Ren'py every year and even so, the games not necessarily get updated. I can't route it out that this game in some time, probably a few years, eventually get updated to Ren'py 9 if released. Until the final version you can never know.

Good news is that this games have their Python engine in the game folder so even if a game runs on an obsolete Ren'py/Python version in their final release, they'll still be working.

Father/daughter mostly. A bit of mom/daughter and uncle/niece if you allow sharing content.

God forbids that Mother/Son exists here. Poor Zaton will either end up dead or simply being cucked while he's away doing desert stalker stuff and his "tenant" is banging his "landlady" and "roommates" in his absence. It's the #1 rule about landlords and male tenants: they cannot coexist. :Kappa:
