1) if you've had saves that didn't work before this update, that's on you, because that just wasn't the case until now, shouldn't be happening and if you reached out we would have fixed it for you. You probably used a mod or a walkthrough... Or you play the game on a potato.
This time, yes, you have to start anew because of reasons that we have been mentioning in every update for months. They have been mentioned in this forum for several pages now

2) if you can't keep it in your pants and have to download a beta version which everybody knows is going to be bugged and missing content, you do not come bitching about it being a beta without looking like a fool.

3) as for the new content... Again, reading any of the updates the Dev gives every week would have told you that the game's code has been rewritten from the ground up and several old scenes have been remade and extended, which in and of itself warrants a replay.
Yes, there is also a fair bit of new content, but that was never the goal of this update.
If you can't be arsed to keep updated about the development of the game, and it aggravates you, you should not be playing a game that is in development.
If you are a supporter of the game, you should be receiving regular updates you not reading them is on you.
If you're not a supporter of the game, you still have plenty of options to keep up to date.
If you can't be bothered to and all you do is pirate the game and play it when you see it listed in the new releases, without caring to read the first sentence that appears on screen about it being a beta release...
Frankly, we couldn't give less of a fuck about your momentary discomfort.

If any who read this reply that aren't Indio feel somehow called out: congratulations, you were . Grow up.

I'm starting to think whoever came up with the naming conventions of game releases knew what they were doing, since every time a beta version gets leaked, it seems to trigger bitching and moaning from a certain type of individuals.

And those cut content is?
He probably forgot to remove the filter to gore and force play. I did at first and i thought there was a lot of cut content. I was wrong.
No, it's on. Most of the player agency scenes that were at all edgy were removed. Cant fingerbang your niece in front of her dad. Removing removes a whole strength of the game that made it interesting to replay, its dark and gritty world that's big on sharing and power play. Now that world setting is just lip service. Beheading someone is fine but banging your niece in front of a guard and pregnant woman and a guard is to much. Don't get a choice in the beheadings but you did with how you interacted with her. Not just her that's changed but a lot of little things that had choices. But her whole ark has changed, she helped to give you agency to explore the world, now she's just window dressing. You can still enjoy her scenes but the impact she gave you to explore the world is stolen along with your choice to explore differences in that world.

This could just be a BETA issue bud. We'll see at full release.

This at least is a properly argumented criticism i can do something with.
As far as we know, the scenes regarding Nadia should be unchanged and unaffected by the reworks, including the different choices you mention. It could be a bug. Did you look at her scenes from the gallery using the save we provided? Or did this happen on an actual play through? Because the save is mostly there to allow testers to access the new scenes, not to look back/browse.

Do you have amnesia or something? Those scenes literally not even in the rework content.

Also literally in the past updates you can't even finger her in front of her dad, so how is it cut content?

And in case you want to say the fuck in front of the guard scene is missing, here you go

I am actually a bit confused by the old saves not working thing. My old save worked fine. I had to replay some of the content, but not a crazy amount. Overall I was very satisfied with the update, there was a bit more new content than usual, which is kind of crazy if the systems were also being reworked. There weren't THAT many bugs, either. A couple of errors that ignore worked to get past and a couple of missing images.

similar to you, i was able to load my old save (16beta), the only thing that didn't work and made it croak, was the quest log. everytime there's an update to a quest, it'll spew an error "AttributeError: 'Quest' object has no attribute 'tracked'" i'm guessing that in the future, to use the quest log i need to restart from the beginning.

That is a dev save (it is a very common thing for a lot of games) so you can just see the newish content but it is not your personal save with your choices, and you also don't get to see all the reworked and changed content and code changes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, for all the people saying there is cut content.....

The mc is not a cop. And desert stalkers are not the fbi. He does what he wants. Zeta may be his house but its not his destiny, he insists. You can like or agree to a principle but not always follow it, and I dont think thats inconsistency. Normal people are like that. Only zealots dont. Which desert stalkers rarely can be since they use tech forbidden by zetan law to everyone else. They are supposed to be different.
I didnt say he was a cop but he is a well-respected citizen. And no I tend to think you're wrong if you were to put a staple on a Desert stalker who "Works for the Queen" Which by his own talk (not many of them do) in old game i would in fact call him FBI. He's above a gaurd though not above much else. He enjoys the privileges that affords him and as far as original game goes he LOVEs his kingdom and wants what's best for it. It was also a scene that said yes you can have slaves but with that comes responsibility now thats out the window. I'll talk more on it when i replay the whole game. Maybe he added more but it seems like they are making him generally not even care about his own culture which seems weird. He was always a loner but never an outsider.

~ I always love to revisit this scene in the game...so beautiful and heartwarming to see the chemistry that Zaton builds up with his family. Sure, he might be rough around the edges as a Stalker, but given his occupation and the environment they are in, can you really blame him?

Albeit in any event, his caring, compassionate and watchful nature does shine through in scenes like this

Seems like a bug because I managed to get all the Nadia scenes, including the one RX said was missing (I think). I also managed to get all the Aisha scenes too that another user said was missing. I am missing Ain's punishment and living room scenes though. I couldn't get Ain's living room scenes because her icon is an error message, the other scene was just skipped over completely (no convo with Zahra). This is all from a fresh start.

That's just some of the bugs and I hope it is a beta problem because I agree with RX that, without some of those scenes and player choices, Desert Stalker loses its grit and immersiveness (and the kinks which my degen mind likes :sneaky:).
