The current plot development is hard to describe. The male protagonist does not have a clear enough understanding and overall plan for the future of the world, although he can basically fuck all the important female characters in the game.

She wouldn't always be called that anyway, just like Charles III is usually just called "King Charles". More interesting is how it says "it is an insult to the Merneith. Do not insult the Merneith". That makes it sound like "Merneith" is part of her title, rather than her name.I'd like to think that it's the former too... But "present day" Queen isn't referred to as "Merneith II" so back to square one
