Five is definitely high - I can't really remember any AVNs I've played that have scenes that big. I can think of several AVNs that include MC + 4 women group sex scenes though.

Remakes of the early scenes started long before Steam was even on the horizon.
They came about because Z had improved to such a degree in the visual department, that he grew dissatisfied with his earliest work and decided to tune it up when he felt it didn't represent his skills adequately anymore.
It makes sense to have a more cohesive quality across the game. Even though it was interesting to see the progression as the updates came out, a new player would probably find it jarring or not be taken in much by a game that has a cover page of a certain style, and the first scenes of a notably lower quality.

Well. The quality of Desert Stalker is so consistently peak high that i would find it hard to say that going on steam and in reworks caused any harm. It even mantained the obvious strong incest element and the non consensual sex episodes in it, which is absolutely surprising, lately.

This game seems to have slipped through the net. Or maybe it's the modern days setting which is targeted the most, because of the "modern audience".
