Is 0-16c still using .pngs or did they revert to more sensible jpg or webp? I only tried 0-16b and it has png
There is no perceptible improvement to using png files over jpg or webp in Renpy unless you are using them in some manner of screen overlay capacity. But just using them as your standard bgs is head scratcher. An unjustified increase in file size imo.
That, along with scenes like Ain/Nadia being riddled with Daz artifacts is making me wonder if the added team artist isn't quite up to speed or if just overall the team is trying on new body assets that they have not quite sorted yet.
Still my favourite game on F95, but some puzzling choices=

No offense but it sounds so...stupid, not to many people with sound minds would be happy with this tale going down that "epic story" route. It may appeal to you and if you decide to start your own VN go for it. Just my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree but it sounds like something Zack Snyder would THINK was a good idea and then watch the whole story flop.

Hey, I mean with permission from the dev (Zetan), if they do decide to go for a spin-off tale or an alternative "what-if" universe of Zeta, (i.e., that isn't canon to the regular Desert Stalker Zetan universe), that scenario of Omar being the ruler of Zeta would be pretty hilarious ngl....
Albeit, I am not sure how that would resonate with the broader player base per-se lmao

It's not that epic imo, it's just that it seems like the storyline is going down the route of there being a war between Zeta and the Decayed, with the Mutants/Raiders acting as neutral parties or being the factions that tip the scales. A rebellion or civil war happening, I think would run the risk of making the story overcomplicated. It's just a whole new set of plot threads, when there is still plenty of others that need to be expanded upon and finished.
Now, a separate similar game where the MC steal's the "Omar's" girls early on and then it's about that "Omar" orchestrating a coup/rebellion as revenge wouldn't be inherantly ridiculous or over the top.
