It was a hotfix regarding Steam achievements. Not sure if anything else was included with it, though.

The Erik Satie was also not expected, though actually appropriate in a weird way since he not only wrote music for films (before film scores were even a thing) but took inspiration from North African musical traditions....

It looks like it's the Steam version that is uploaded here, which is bundled for market. I don't own a Mac, but I suppose another option would be to try to run if from Terminal. Something like:

Bash: 
/path/to/DesertStalker.app/Contents/MacOS/DesertStalker
Replacing /path/to/ with the actual path.

Otherwise, probably need an experienced Mac user to help.

Dunno. People read at different speeds. Some people only care about certain game paths. It varies. On Steam, I see people with records hours of around 12 hours to a little over 30. Just depends.

I really don't know how to use the terminal, wich i imagine is pretty typical of mac users haha. But thanks i'll try it, fingers crossed some mac-wizz comes along and can help out

Also don't know much about mac, but in Linux we'd cd to our Desert stalker directory and run the included shell script with ./DesertStalker.sh

So for me it looks like this

I've always been curious if this would work on mac too since it's unix based... Then again if it did, I doubt people would ask for a mac version so often if they could just easily run the shell script so it probably doesn't work.
