It is pointed out in the game's beginning introduction that the Decayed are the only ones producing gasoline, and we later find out that it's because they have access to manufacturing plants. The average citizen of the wasteland doesn't have resources to produce either. Zeta probably could if they weren't deeply anti technology.
Is this game almost finished? I’ve seen some great reviews and it looks really interesting, but I want to wait until it's completely done so I can get the full experience.

"It's the journey that matters, not the destination". And in the case of DS, this proverb works 100%. There is no clear timeframe for when the game should be finished. But in any case, if everything goes well, the game's development will continue for several years (and imo, the longer the better).

mmm, that only works when the destination is hell. then its all about enjoying the ride. but if your end goal is heaven, then the ride is boring as fuck so its all about the destination.
but yeah, i dont think anyone following this game for last years is ready for an end. theres too much to see still. and thats just the sex scenes between lewdable girls, not even accounting for the mini plot arcs and major plot line.

I don't think that is true for stories. They should have a clear end so you can move on.
A camel is a large, desert-adapted mammal known for its humps (fat storage) and ability to survive long periods without water,

I mean you can still move on from stories even without clear end, it's kinda you problem if you can't. As sad as I would be if Desert Stalker’s development ended right now, I would still go on with my life.
