What's wrong with working on a game for the money ?
Making money through Patreon for creating games isn't inherently bad of course, but polling "Do you want me to continue?" with the only goal on Patreon being
"Yo I'll continue this shit if I get a fifty" doesn't scream "This game is going to be around for more than one update".
Yes you have to bring something to the table to catch the attention of potential Patreon supporters, but handing out cheats in a 10$ a month version ... I mean if you want to experience cheats right now, open up the "map.rpy" file and put these two lines as another menu option at the "label tutor":
You know what's gonna happen if you cheat 10k of all resources a few times because there's absolutely no feedback the cheat worked? Your population is going to require so much food to grow, you'll trigger these lines in the "economic.rpy":
Code:
if people >= 2 * people_limit:
$ food = 0
$ people_profit = 0
Upon advancing the day, your food will be reduced to 0
(can be increased through cheats), aswell as your population growth
(will be locked at 0). Since you'll have an assload of mouths to feed, you simply can't get enough food production running to get a positive population growth anymore, so you'll lock yourself out of progressing in the main quest if you haven't finished Jessicas quest yet, which requires you to have a population growth of 100.
Yes yes, you can iron that out with a bit of effort, but I can think of better ways to spend 10 bucks than paying for cheats that effectively lock me out of progressing in a game.
