Interesting theory, I'm trying to figure out if that explains why the MC's reaction to the kidnapping prank is just, off. The passivity is there like you describe, and I could never understand how that scene could be written showing both that Kayla is traumatized by it (and even talks about how scared she was later) and the MC shrugging it off like, "no biggie, lets party." Is the MC being written on purpose as spineless? Clueless? Emotionally stunted?

This is what I was afraid of. MC is just a walking dildo. He doesn't have to put in any effort, he doesn't decide anything, LIs will do everything for him. All that is required from him is a permanent erection. Let's hope for positive changes in future updates.

New PC (almost)

Just wanted to give you all a quick update on what I’ve been up to these past few days. Thanks to your incredibly generous support, I was finally able to upgrade my PC!!!
I tried to grab a 5090, but of course, they went out of stock after 2 seconds. Fortunately, I found the only 4090 within a 200km radius on marketplace, but it came with an absolute unit of a PC. I wasn’t about to blow money on unnecessary parts, so I won’t be keeping most of what you see on the picture. A lot of them are overkill, and just too expensive (especially that motherboard lol). I really don’t need a 1350W PSU, a ridiculously expensive/rare overclocking motherboard, an overpriced Hyperion case, or an AIO with a screen. I think when he bought the parts he just filtered by "Brand: ASUS" and "Highest Price"
All that really matters here is this glorious 4090 and the i9-14900KS. That’s all I needed in the first place from this PC and I will sell pretty much everything else. I could've just bought the GPU online at an inflated price, but this whole setup is brand new, and the guy sold it to me for about $2300 less than what he paid. That means I should be able to sell off the individual parts I don't need and reach the original budget I had for this new build.
Later today, I should be receiving the case, motherboard, PSU and RAM I actually wanted. Once that’s here, I’ll be able to finally build my new PC and I will make another post to show you the results

So this version definitely has some issues (at least for me), because after a while of me playing the PC starts to stutter and then closes saying it found an error and needs to restart with a blue screen and a face

Sorry to say, if it came out ~12 days ago and you're the first one with this kind of issue, then its not this game. Whatever you were gonna be playing at that time was gonna crash because you've got something else going on. Might be a virus, might be failing hardware, better check it out.

I also though something like that, but what is really strange is that it's the only thing in the PC that makes that happen, I tried other Renpy games, other games in general, and apps, but it's only this one, and I tried opening it a lot of times in the span of hours just to test, and it would always happen, so it's a little difficult to say it's not related to this game

We'd need someone to chime in who knows how to check these things, but if I am correct, the VAM animations are more computationally intensive than whatever these games usually use. (Just look at the fabric and hair movement.) There used to be a stress test program one could download that would check your RAM and VRAM, that would be where I would look first. I'll try to remember what it was.

It was called MemTest86, but it only tests RAM. Still its worth doing that, maybe someone else knows one for VRAM.

Well there's 2 things that are wrong with his reaction. Being unfazed, or at least hiding it (which he likely would be because we're taught to hide emotions, especially one like 'fear'), and being unconcerned with the effect it had on Kayla. Maybe he was hiding that too out of machismo because his 'bros' were there, but he's just as much of a dick for doing that as for not having a reaction at all. But now you've made me realize that I need to add one more to the list I made earlier. "Is the MC being written on purpose as spineless? Clueless? Emotionally stunted?" Now add, "A sociopath?"

It's actually kinda surprising considering visuals are most certinly NOT lacking in this game, lol. Curious to see if this will translate to an even better looking game, or just faster rendering. Regardless, the dev upgrading the setup must mean he's happy with the support so far, and plans to stick with it, which is great news.

I don't know if it counts, but I did try the game with the task manager open just to see how it would go but nothing different, no spike in ram usage or not of the like, I would also just leave the game open in random scenes, but it would always happen, even when I would hold ctrl the whole time, and the time it took for the game/pc to close would be the same regardless of what I did, but I will wait for, and the other version did not have those issues

PS: I will just wait for this version to leave beta, to try again and see if it fixed, but thanks for trying to help
