I think the 3 characters are a wolf, a kobold, and she is a fennec? Or something vulpine-adjacent. No kangaroo though from what I saw.
I see. I always thought it was a bit of a weird kangaroo. Still, considering how fast it runs, there's a bit of a kangaroo about it.

A lot of animals run faster than most people think, they just usually have no opportunity or reason to, i.e. deer really have the chance to run across open grounds since they purposefully prance over roots and around trees knowing it's harder to be sprinted at that way since it's not a straight line free of obstacles.
But on open ground some deer and adjacent can go up to 50 mph.
I don't argue, they can. But he's clearly not built like a deer, a cheetah, or any other fast animal.

The plaza is right after exiting the train left of the labs area. Mostly as a pop of color after going through the game in mostly muted grey.

Here's the lab! The labs got a minor expansion so it smoothly goes to the boss. returns to the train.
