Do people like adult games that are really story driven?

I really want my game to be heavily story driven and the important part and have the sex scenes be the second important part. But I don’t know if most people would like it since there just want sex scenes. I may be wrong but I’m not sure

Most people want a story driven game, most others a want lots of sex, most of both of those want decisions that impact the game, and at least most of those also want a walkthrough to negate the need for making those decisions.

However, most of us who make a game, make it how we want to make it :D

Most Games have way too many pointless Sex-Scenes. Its like some Devs have a quota to make. Every Chapter has to have at least x Sex-Scenes.
I don't get people who can even fap to Games here, the pacing is just not there. I'd rather watch a Video than clicking through a fucking Scene in a VN...

I only play story based games.

There are plenty of porn sites if I want to see just fucking, i'm here looking for interactive stories and characters I want to know more about.
Well, which one do you prefer: interesting and complex characters or an interactive story? Because you can't have both.

I agreed with you, a lot of game have so much sex scenes without any build-up that the scene become boring and is so common that of those hundreds sex scenes in the update only one actually made me feel interest at all

Actually, looking at the weighted rating of games, pretty much ever title on page 1 would be considered 'story heavy'

https://f95zone.to/latest/#/cat=games/page=1/sort=rating

As such, it does look as if people *want* story heavy games.
Really? Looking at them I get the opposite impression. While there are a number of story heavy games, they all include early sex with the sex used in story telling as opposed to those game who tells a whole mountain of story with 1-2 sex scenes tacked on at the conclusion. Katawa Shoujo for example, which has a fantastic story but what little sex there is tacked on and comes after a long story.

DeLuca's up there, for example. But the question was "Do people like adult games that are really story driven?", which... looking at this, they do. Most of the highly rated games are also heavily story-based games. Now, yes; many of those are also porn-games that contain porn. If your question really was "how little adult content can I get away with, and still be liked by the F95 audience", that is a different question.

It's worth mentioning that, if a dev wants to do story based game and have a consistent/decent/loyal audience, the dev must be actually good at writting/story telling, which isn't the case for most dev who are doing their fisrt game with no experience at all.

People want stories but they want good/interesting stories. If a dev wants to do a story based game but the story isn't good, must players will Ctrl all over the game until the sex scene. Those devs would be better if they stick to more sex and less story.

I don't think it's a black and white question. I can't think of a single game that I play because of the sex scenes. This doesn't mean that I dislike them, in fact I want them, just not at the cost of gameplay/story/characters.

As for story driven games, while I do tend to focus more-so on them. I feel as if the story isn't as important either. While I do want the story to maintain some bit of inconsistency and coherency, other than this I can enjoy a bad story just as much, if not more, than many of the "good" stories portrayed on this site.

What I am more interested in is characters. If I dislike the characters chances are, I am going to dislike the game. No matter how good the sex scenes or story may be. A good character gets my attention and enhances the story and sex scenes significantly.

I don't judge a game on its story or sex scenes, but how I am satisfied by both (in terms of quality and quantity). Also since you are talking about a game and not a "simple" visual novel (in the strict sense of the term), choices and/or gameplay should also be seriously considered.

Try to focus on story more without pointless sex scenes, but have the scenes play moderately, and include a gallery for fapsters

I don't think it's a matter of liking story vs the amount of adult content. The highest rated games have a good story with a lot of adult content. There are actually a lot of games that are story driven, it is just that either the story isn't very good or the sex feels tacked on rather than an integral part of the story.

A good story can add a lot to the sexual tension, so it certainly is important, though I don't think a porn game's story has to be as elabortate as a regular game's. While I think a porn game should have many sex scenes, it should at very least also explain what led to them, as this often makes a HUGE difference. E.g. a genuine lesbian scene is ALWAYS a lot hotter than a lesbian scene that is a mere performance for a male character. Personally my favorite is still After Invasion with Milf's Tale being second, of course in both cases playing only the lesbian protagonist route. I can't think of another adult game with a compelling story.

Have you never played any Bioware game? Witcher 2 and 3? Divinity Original Sin 2? Fallout NV? The Outer Worlds? Persona 5? Sakura Dungeon? Faulty Apprentice? Love Esquire? Corrupted Kingdoms? Harem Hotel?

Plenty of proof it can happen, even with porn.
