For me it depends on the story and genre. I love games of which the MC is male since if it's a POV I imagine it is me as that character but I also love games if the MC is female as well but for different reasons. Sorry to go a bit off topic here but when is comes to AAA games it depends on what game it is like for example with Resident Evil I play as Jill most of the time but I do play as Chris on occasion while with Resident Evil 2 I choose to play as both Leon and Claire mostly due to the A and B scenario stories but with other games like Mass Effect I mostly play as Male Shepard but do play as Fem Shepard as a different experience. When it comes to porn games I also love games of which there is no MC so you as the player gets to decide the course of the story since with those you know what is going on in the minds of the characters and what choice you make for one will influence the others.

Whatever the game I always choose woman protagonist, be it adult game or not, and especially action games because I love sexy and badass women.

My issue with male protagonist is that most don't appeal to me, from look to personality.

Also games with male protagonist tend to be in first person view or cutted third person view to not show his face because some gamers would feel like cuckold.

First person view can add to the immersion but restrict too much the camera work.
In the end it depend of what you want from your game.

In adult games, I prefer to play female. The fewer dicks, the better for me.

But when it's a non-adult videogame, it depends on the premise. I'll accept any protagonist if a good plot calls for it. Geralt of Rivia and Nathan Drake are two of my all-time favorite videogame protagonists. Lara Croft was supposed to be our Nathan Drake, but she didn't grow as a character in the last two Tomb Raider games and that sucks. Have some hope for Ellie in Last of Us 2 though. I'm just not a fan of their... aesthetic decision with regards to her.

I reallly prefer female charachters seeing as I am one myself but al the games I check out are either where the female MC turns into a corrupted fuckslave or she already turns out to be one. I also dont like rpgm. I just want one good 3d charachter game where you play as a dominant woman and can enslave both males and females like a slaver/trainer game or start bdsm relationships

It depends on a lot of factors really. Each choice really often devolves into tropes because it's a sex game which shoehorns you into a certain setting/feeling. A male character will often be some lecherous creep that has morally questionable sex with anyone even remotely connected to his life. A female character will end up being some mindbroken slut or some hopeless idiot that constantly gets harassed/assaulted.

Personally I don't care either way, so long as the game is decent.

Male obviously, because I'm male...
Why is that obviously ?

I am a male to but it really doesn't matter for me if a adult game has a female or male MC.
Only thing that mattes to me with Female MC games is if there is actually a story, and not another Japanese Corruption/Rape/Monster game.

But apart from that, i really don't care.
More important factor is the story for me. (And if the game has NTR or not)

Can someone explain to me what NTR means?
short for netorare. It's japanese for the fetish of your partner cheating on you. often involves a theme of humiliating the partner while having sex. Think Cuckolding.

i don't play female protagonist because i prefer when i am the male protagonist
personally i like to put myself in the game as the male and if you played female protagonist game you cannot do that (if i couldn't put myself as the protagonist i don't play) :D

happy to see you BTW it's been a 2 days since the last time we talk :cautious:

believe me you don't want to know but the simple answer when someone fuck your girl and steal her from you it's called NTR or cuckold depend on the situation
i hope you aren't into this :rolleyes:

From a role-playing perspective i 100% agree with you ;).
However, sometimes i just like to enjoy a story.. And well, my fiancé likes female protagonists very much.. So a lot of times we end up playing those to and to be honest, some of them are very good.

I've been active on here the last couple days, but mostly in threads that i follow/like. :)

Can someone explain to me what NTR means?
NTR means "Nothing To Report" :whistle::LOL:

No, seriously it is a forbidden Japanese word (abbreviation) here on F95, what cause a lot of controversy and results in several NTR-Wars between NTR-Hater and NTR-Lover.

Japanese ero-game developer created the "N-Word" as an plot device for their story. Unfortunately the "true/original" meaning of "N-Word" had become unclear and even 'official' definitions are inconsistent. Over the time "N-Word" had split into a lot of sub-genre and cause an effect called " the spaghetti-bowle".

Here is a short list of kinks, what people think is NTR and non-NTR (spagehtti-bowle):

- Female gets rape by strangers (not MC) [NTR]
- MC rapes female [non-NTR]
- Gangbang, where the female gets fucked by MC and other male characters [NTR]
- Gangbang, where MC is the only male character [non-NTR]
- Female cheating on MC [NTR]
- MC cheating on female [non-NTR]
- Cuckold (male) [NTR]
- Cuckquean (female) [non-NTR]
- Wife\Girlfriend\Mother\Sister\Aunt etc.-sharing with an other male character (females are related or have a strong connection to MC) [NTR] {swinger}
- Wife\Girlfriend\Mother\Sister\Aunt etc.-sharing with MC (females are not related or have a strong connection to MC) [non-NTR] {swinger}
- Wife\Girl-sharing with an other girl character [non-NTR] {swinger}
- etc...

As you can see, if you identify yourself as MC and you see "your" girls having sex with another male characters, people will consider this as NTR. If "your" girls only have sex with MC, people will consider this as non-NTR.

Be aware: Some parts of my post are sarcasm and may not explain the "N-Word" in all his appearances.

As a woman, I don't mind either. What I want is a well-told story, male MC or Female MC won't change it.
Naturally, I wouldn't mind if it was a more even 50-50 split instead of it being mostly male MCs but I guess most of the games are made by males to begin with.

I prefer a female MC, because it's easier to relate to. However, most of the dialogue for female protagonist VN's here are very poorly written (with High Life being a very obvious exception, along with a couple others). I can definitely enjoy the well made male protagonist VN's though, since an engaging story trumps gender. You're going to have die hards for either gender (among other things), so it's best if the protagonist fits into the role of the story being told.

I'm finishing the concept of a new game and I was wondering... may I make a male or female protagonist? Any suggestion about protagonist would be very appreciated too. Thank you!!
Whatever makes you catch a "bone" instantly is probably the way to go. Use your lightsaber to dictate what you want. But I suggest don't use your lightsaber to make the plot or story otherwise shit will be bland af generic cum dumpster game.

Regular games: Female, because if I'm going looking at the back of a character for 60 hours, I rather it be a female. Also, piloting a female character in a game with a heavy emphasis on character customization, I feel as though I can pull off more looks and styles as a female character as opposed to a male one.

Porn games: It doesn't matter that much but, still, female preferred, but to see how the game's writer approaches writing sexual situations from a feminine perspective; be the writer a male trying to imagine how a woman would navigate those situations, or a female writer relaying their perspective and/or experiences though their work.
