If you don't give Evaline the paper, she doesn't blackmail you, she does offer to make you her sub or train you as a dom (depending on your first dream sex choice with Tara), or offers you a date if you refuse.

My understanding of why the rework happened, was because the code base was a nightmare to work with because BWG had too many choices initially, they had to cut down the number of choices to make the time between updates reasonable. Overall I would say this is a reasonable compromise, even if I liked the variance in the original.

Therefore this was a bit of my compromise. No matter what you do with Evaline you can still be on all 3 major paths with Ms. Harper while still locking options based on past choices and personality.

You can only date harper if you helped Evaline cheat if you are dominant and tell her to fuck off. But at the same time you can only be a sub if you blew Evaline off if you went hard into the sub option at the start of the game.

I did my best to meld both narrative and gameplay as best I could.

She ignored Evelyne on this path and offered the Sugar Mommy route instead. I liked this as it gave the player an out if blackmail wasn't their cup of tea. She is still subtly blackmailing the player here, using Evelyne's dormlife as a potential bargaining chip. Honestly, I'm just disappointed because I was hoping to still be able to go the Sugar Mommy route and not be emotionally manipulated by Harper.

I can see why you would be disappointed, and I largely agree, however Harper is a manipulative piece of shit, so maybe she just can't help being dominant and controlling people?

Maybe but it really just ruined another point in the original. Evelyne was considered so beneath her that it was a diss in itself to let it go because she was not even a second thought, since she was content in charming Viv unopposed. It really showed how confident she was in her ability to seduce her instead.

Let's hope that if you go down the "date" route that it will be something like this then. Optionally she might be like this if you go the voluntary sub route and please her, be that as someone willing to debase themselves from the start or someone who show just enough rebelliousness to keep it interesting for the Dom.

I actually found that she seemed far more invested in the buildup to the upcoming date when you resisted sexual advances.

Pre rework I believe it was implied that if you took her offer to teach you how to dom then you could reverse things with Harper. I was wondering if this is still going to be true because it sounds like things may have changed with the remake since it sounds like her route is no longer built on your previous actions.

Wont say one way or another on that front however the plan was and still is, that if you are being blackmailed you can either give in, survive, or get revenge

She gave me the option as Evelyne's domme, but it still felt like a blackmail. It really robbed from the original version how Harper is willing to sacrifice pettiness for the bigger win.

BWG is redoing the project, with improved graphics, and changing some of the way some events play out. The old version is still here, but it only gets part way through the party. The new version still has a good way to go before you reach the dorm party, as you haven't even been to Rebecca's F1 Party.
