The patch is not necessary, just set everything at the start of the game. Make sure you're not loading s save from the demo version

Warning screen. Paragraph 3 is missing a "not"... maybe?
"This game contains fantasy themes and if you think these things are (not?) ok then you are a total dick-wad"
The laundry room hint for Max does not change with the user preferences, referring to her always as "Max".
And as for the rest? Theres the map screen music and I see what you did there. Otherwise there really is not much content to judge. I think the game could take a little more writing in the spicy scenes, like the player characters internal monologue and/or narration of events.
Possibly the characters could sometimes be somewhere in the house with their location being indicated on the map. So you can go to them and have additional (dialogue only) interactions to show off their activities and personality. More importantly as things progress, the players growing influence can be reflected through these otherwise mundane encounters.
I will await the next update with interest and patience.

The rest: First, there is a constant struggle in writing this between trying to tell a story and the original Flash games where it got it's inspiration. The Flash games have barely ANY dialogue, just enough to get you to the H scenes. Part of their charm is their simplicity. I like the balance I've struck so far. As for more content, all the other things you suggested (and more) have been considered, but the release date was so far behind with all the game mechanic upgrades it was decided what is there was sufficient for an initial release.
The fact that you took the time to post this shows me your interest in the game, and I thank you for the feedback

I want to try this game... but the absolute tragedy that is the attempted remake of View of Family has soured me on this dev.

As I posted everywhere, VoF-R was my first attempt to teach myself RenPy game dev. There wouldn't be a Doll Play if it weren't for VoF-R.
Dev Release — Chapter 2 Status Update
Hey there, loyal Doll-Players!
Time for a status drop on Chapter 2 and where things stand behind the curtain.
Short version:
All the scenes are written (and rewritten...and rewritten again), the renders are complete, and the chapter is fully playable end-to-end. Now we're in the refining stage.
Long version (the good stuff):
Chapter 2 turns the screws on everyone in the house. Threats—real, imagined, and interstellar—start closing in from every direction, and nobody escapes unscathed. Here's a taste of what you can expect in the next release:

A handful of important but less glamorous items:
Not giving one. I've missed enough dates to know better than to set myself up again. Just know this:

* Maxine hits her breaking point. Pressures that have been simmering finally push her into making a choice that ripples through the entire household.
* Jill's suspicion finally boils over. Her patience runs out, and she goes head-to-head with Luthor in a confrontation that's been building since Chapter 1.
* Zeebo comes clean. He lays bare his true origin, his fugitive status, and why an entire Galactic Authority wants him in chains, or worse
(sincere apologies in advance to any Kardashian fans...you'll understand when you get there. Sorry not sorry).
* Interstellar law enforcement takes notice. Three members of a cosmic policing agency zero in on the Terran system—with wildly different agendas and even more unpredictable consequences.
* And Luthor's teacher appears. She's convinced what this household needs is discipline—only to discover she may have severely misjudged the situation...at her own peril.
What's left to do?

- Quality-of-life improvements
- Finalizing a scalable Quest Tracker that actually works the way it should
