Ain't that a bitch... Your save would've been more useful so I could see exactly where you were, buuuut, I just finished updating all the items/events and I need to do a full playthrough myself to make sure those changes didn't break shit. So I'll do that and fix any bugs I come across along the way. I'm adding the renders to the museum scene, but once I finish adding what I currently have to add, then wrap up the event (it's currently broken while adding the renders but I can obviously patch it up for a playthrough), I'll stop adding/updating shit and do that playthrough. Let's make sure all the old shit is working before I get to adding new shit, eh?

If all is well, I'll upload that data folder as a hotfix then upload the game in full once the rest of the renders are ready. Just finished the "Knight" scene and I'm working on the "Temple" scene now. It's the second longest scene and once it's done the rest will be a cake walk. Laura's scene too. Here's a preview render for taking the time to test the game out. I appreciate it!

I'm sure nobody cares, however, if you've ever wanted to see the monotonous bs.... I mean fun, that goes into making an RPG maker game I've started streaming from time to time in my discord; like right now. If you happen to pop up and I'm not doing anything it's because I'm packing/smoking a bowl.

Sorry about the double post ;)

You walk forward, event plays out, lights cut on. If that isn't happening then there's a bug I need to fix. Currently doing a playthrough now so I'll get to that part soon enough.
It's the same place I'm still stuck, even after the latest data library you uploaded. It's the same save as I uploaded in post #1015.
Could you save before you enter that temple/dungeon and share the save file if you don't get stuck?

I've finished my playthrough of the prologue. I fixed all the bugs I saw and I have like 2 minor things to tweak. I'm going to do another playthrough in about 30 mins or so to make sure I got all the bugs then I'll release the bugfix, which I'll upload in full. I'll be streaming the playthrough in Discord but I doubt anybody shows up. If you do pop in and the screen is just sitting on MZ, I'm probably packing/smoking a bowl or cooking if I got hungry... And I'll be back soon. Anyway, the fix should be ready within 24 hours or sometime shortly after the stream.

Edit: Game has been updated. Links on the main post.

GODs This game !!

Even with the walkthough the temple is actually still hard. Each fight by itself isn't actually that bad, but unless you know exactly what you're going to run into around the corner, and where to swing left /right down to the smallest detail, you risk running out of resources.

The mobs have a lot of health, which is fine as long as you have stamina, but 20 x 20sp potions and 1 x 50sp doesn't last very long, especially if you end up picking up a few extra fights. Worst part is, in the beginning it doens't actually make the fights a challenge .. they just become tedious as f.....
... I suppose the game is balanced around having a bowl while chilling - not trying to race through an area to actually experience the story.

Edit: and stupid me hadn't saved halfway through, so thats the entire temple I have to do again! I'll get back into it, but its just too tedious right now.

Great feedback! The temple is meant to be hard, but not "that" hard. Resource wise, there is a mob with a "Tonberry shop" (A shop that sells the items from all the other shops you've been to + the ATM) in the dungeon so that you can resupply if need be. It's in the back of the dungeon though and you have to walk through various rooms to get to it. There is also a pool that refills health/stamina and removes bad status effects too. But it's in the same place as the shop so you'd have to get to it. And if you don't know that it's there... it's not really useful. Right? I could also lower the HP of enemies too, but combat is going to be really unbalanced until I get more feedback. That said, you should be able to "race" through it because you can run away from enemies better now. Previously when escaping the enemy would just attack again, now they wait a bit before moving to attack again. Except maybe the two spiders in that one room.

The poison WAS meant to be a pain in the ass. That's definitely intentional. None of the basic status effect removers (bandages, antidotes, etc.) are 100% effective. Potions are. That's also intentional. The spiders that ambush you "blow up" after they die with a chance to apply poison and bleed. You have no way of knowing this but there is a chest in the "maze" map (the map with the goo girls and lots of rocks) that has 10 "cleansing" potions in it. Between the 10, I think, I had bought on the save, + the antidotes, the shop, the spring, and that chest, there should be plenty of resources for the player to remove status effects. Some tips for others though, stay out of the acid on the ground. Run from the centipedes. Run from the spiders, if you can. Don't remove statuses in the middle of battle, wait until it's over and you should be good. Make sure to let down the vine so that you can easily go from the front of the dungeon to the back. Remember that there is a pool in the back that will completely heal you and there is a mob that sells everything currently available to buy in game.

Don't let the game stress you. I do want it to be challenging but not stressful. If things seem too hard, you're probably missing something. In this case, you never got to the pool/shop before running out of items. One thing to try is to quickly go through the dungeon, don't worry about collecting/fighting things at first, get to the point where you drop the vine in the entrance and now you can easily go from the front to the back of the dungeon.

Wheeeew, been a while eh? I could talk about why I went AWOL (I got injured while exercising and ran out of weed*) but that's not important is it? Didn't think so! Welp, got bad news, good news, and possibly great news. Depends on perspective and if you care about the game I suppose. Anyway, bad news first. No ETA on the update and it's liable to be a while yet... Bust_BC_Angry1_Def1.png
I know. Shit happens. So, what's the good news then? Development is ongoing! :LUL: No, seriously, game is actually doing pretty good and although I've been MIA I've actually gotten a good bit of work done to it. However, while working on the game I realized that I couldn't keep doing the renders as I was because the game was getting too big. Like I'm not done with chapter 1 and the damn game was already 10 gigs, game might've been 70+ by the time it's all said and done. Nobody is downloading a 70 gig rpg maker game. Shit, not even me. Only reason I'd have it is because I built it... Thus I had no choice but to scrap my renders again and start from scratch with the idea I'd been running from for basically the start... FML. It took me a while to figure things out and set shit up, but the new plan is to render all the busts/backgrounds from preset angles. Basically overlay everything like most VNs. I didn't want to do this because it's hard to keep the 1st person vibe, but I think I've done it ok. Since you've seen angry Blaze, here she is 3 more times...

As you can see, that's just 1 angle from 4 different distances. The first 2 will normally be the distances most conversations are taken from, however I've obviously planned for distant shots as well. Nice and all, but kind of boring, which is why I have 4 other angles, with the same 4 distances. Moreover, I also have inverted angles for reverse shots. All in all, it's 40 different angles. That said, I'll probably need to add 6-10 more. More on that in a sec but here are some more examples...

Inverted versions of the first 2 distances... The lighting and distances are slightly different so even the same pose won't look the same... although I picked a different pose just to show. The fuck am I doing...

More angles, and did I mention I'm rendering out multiple outfits? Also, for now some angles will be better than others for different reasons. In some cases, some angles just look better, in this particular case, the clothes are fucked and I didn't fix it. Looks better from the other side. That said, these won't be the final renders, although they will be what's added to the next update as I wont be redoing them right now. I mean really, would you rather I rerender all her shit now or move on to the next character so I can get the damn update out faster? We both know the answer to that. Moving on...

Alright. of the 2 right side angles, 1 is angled down, the other is angled up. Pretty self explanatory.

Some right side action...
Bust_BC_Disg1_Rau3.png
Bust_BC_Disg1_Rau3a.png
More right side action... Which brings me to the additional angles I might need to consider...
Bust_BC_Conf1_Lau3b.png
Bust_BC_Conf1_Rau3b.png
I dunno. Might be worth considering. You tell me? But what do you think about the angles? Good enough or should I add more, (not including the ones I already plan on adding)? How about the lighting? Nice? More importantly, do people want the models to use DoF or not? The backgrounds will so I opted for it but if people would prefer for the busts not to I can do it that way as well.

I get that some people might not like the change but it's much better for the game space wise and speed wise as well. Once the busts are done, they're done for everything. In theory, every conversation that Blaze, or any future characters, will have will be available to make once the busts are done. If it's so much better why did I fight it for so long? Because it's a pita to set this shit up and I still dunno if it'll pan out, A.K.A if people will like it, but that's ok because the game will be too big otherwise.

Also, I don't have any renders of this, yet, but while working on setting this up in MZ I made two major breakthroughs. One, I figured out how to get MZ to play videos with transparencies. Two, I also figured out how to layer these videos over images. You should understand what that means :BootyTime:.

I could go on and talk about some MZ work, but I'll end it here in hopes I get some feedback on the renders. As far as the renders go, it takes about 2 1/2-3 weeks, based on progress with Blaze, to render out all the busts. Blaze has 2 more poses then I'll be jumping to Fire then MJ, then Laura, and finally Dope.

Welp, that's all for now. Would really appreciate some feedback, still not giving Patreon my ID for now. Enjoy!

*I planned for and had a great harvest last year. Won't be running out of weed anytime soon. Joy!
